Purpose of Assignment
The purpose of this is assignment is for students to review the basic principles of economics and the concepts of the circular flow model, showing the connectivity of society’s economic players and the flow of goods and money within an economy. Students will learn how society allocates its scarce resources and how economists are both scientists and policymakers. Students will define GDP and CPI and how they are calculated.

How economists are both scientists and policymakers and what principles society uses to allocate its scarce resources.
Using the circular flow model, explain the flow of money and goods in an economy.
How the economy coordinates society’s independent economic actors.
A country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and how it is defined and calculated.
How the consumer price index (CPI) is constructed and why it is an imperfect measurement of the cost of living.

You will write 1 Article Review based on any of the peer-reviewed journal articles located in the Jerry Falwell Library. Each article must discuss a different learning theory presented in this course. Begin the body of the review with a summary of the chosen article. Then, discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article. Include a reflective summary of the effectiveness and appropriateness of the article, as well as an explanation of how the article relates to the textbook readings and the theory you have chosen. Finally, include your personal reaction to the article. Each Article Review must be at least 2 pages and adhere to current APA format.

At this point, you have learned about several learning theories such as behaviorism, social cognitive theory, information processing theory, and constructivism. For this paper, you must discuss 1 of these theories in a 5–7-page paper, utilizing at least 5 scholarly sources published within the last 5 years. Choose the theory with which you most identify as a learner. Your paper must include the following sections:

·         A summary of the major components and theorists associated with the theory;

·         A discussion of how the lessons and activities in the classroom would be differentiated to incorporate this theory;

·         A discussion of how this learning theory will impact classroom management and student learning; and

·         A discussion of why you most closely identify with this particular theory.

The following items must be addressed within the above sections. You will need to demonstrate the following in order to fall into the Proficient category on the grading rubric for this assignment:

·         Discuss and present a basic comprehensive summary of the learning theory.

·         Demonstrate a Christian worldview and approach to teaching and learning throughout the paper.

Media Presentation

Thread Prompt 1:  watch for media presentations that use some kind of research as part of the presentation. This could be television, radio, internet, a live presentation, or some other kind of presentation. This part of the assignment is designed to help you realize how often research concepts are presented in everyday life. Do not use fictional sources.

1.      Describe the presentation you saw or heard during the preparation phase of the assignment.

2.      Critique the presentation from the perspective of research methodology. Identify at least 3 issues/features that relate to research. Use any of the research concepts from the textbook, presentations, or other course discussion.

3.      Create your own appropriately worded heading (use proper levels of headings) to introduce the kinds of issues/features that you critique.

4.      List the appropriately formatted citation and reference for your source.

Here are examples of the kinds of issues/features you might critique:

·         What was the question being answered or addressed by this research report?

·         What method or methods were used to address/answer the research question?

·         How appropriate and effective the methods seem to be.

·         Are there legal concerns?

·         Are there ethical concerns?

·         Is the research report intended to be generalized? If so, can these results be appropriately generalized to a broader population?

·         Are there issues related to validity or reliability, and if so, how are these issues addressed?

·         Any other issues that you would like to address.

·         You do not need to write about all of the examples above; this list is to give you an idea as to how to begin. You may also write about other issues as well.

CASE STUDY PAPER

There are many methods available for conducting research, one of which is a case study. The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn how to conduct and complete a case study.

Instructions: Answer the following 4 questions using current APA format throughout. This includes your title page, running head, author note, appropriate vocabulary and sentence structure, introductory statement, citations, page numbers, levels of headings throughout the document, and consistency between your citations and references. Use your course textbook “Introduction to Research: Less Fright, More Insight” and at least 2 additional scholarly references. This assignment must have a title page, 2–4 pages of content, and a reference page. Give the answers to these questions in your own words and with your own explanation. Cite and list your various sources as references. Create your own phrase for a properly-formatted level one heading for each question so as to be clear about which item you are answering. Your headings must not be simply copied/pasted from the questions. An acceptable heading must clearly capture the essence of each question.

1. What is a case study?

3. What are advantages and disadvantages of this approach?
4. Where, or in what ways, can a researcher acquire information/data that can be used for a case study? In other words, what are some various sources for information that a researcher can use in a case study? The purposes of this assignment are to:

• Demonstrate proper use of one of the research methods studied in this course—specifically, the case study.
• Reflect on what you have learned in this course.
• Reflect on the course content as critiqued from a biblical, Christian perspective.

Instructions: Using a case study approach, write a 4–8-page research-based paper using yourself as the research subject by answering the assigned research questions:

• What have you learned about research at an introductory level?
• How do you evaluate or critique this from a biblical, Christian perspective?

You will use the APA skills that you honed during Module/Week 3, the case study skills you developed in Module/Week 5, and all the content you studied throughout all the modules/weeks of this course. Current APA format needs to be demonstrated in all aspects of this assignment.

Your paper must include a properly-formatted title page, 4–8 pages of content with proper citations and levels of headings, and a reference page. Be sure to cite enough references to sufficiently support your paper. Maintain consistency between your citations and reference page.
