Assignment 1: Application – Comprehensive Patient Assessment

Assignment 1: Application – Comprehensive Patient Assessment

When completing practicum requirements in clinical settings, you and your Preceptor might complete several patient assessments in the course of a day or even just a few hours. This schedule does not always allow for a thorough discussion or reflection on every patient you have seen. As a future advanced practice nurse, it is important that you take the time to reflect on a comprehensive patient assessment that includes everything from patient medical history to evaluations and follow-up care. For this Assignment, you begin to plan and write a comprehensive assessment paper that focuses on one female patient from your current practicum setting.

By Day 7 of Week 9

This Assignment is due. It is highly recommended that you begin planning and working on this Assignment as soon as it is viable.

To prepare

  • Reflect on your Practicum Experience and select a female patient whom you have examined with the support and guidance of your Preceptor.
  • Think about the details of the patient’s background, medical history, physical exam, labs and diagnostics, diagnosis, treatment and management plan, as well as education strategies and follow-up care.

To complete

Write an 8- to 10-page comprehensive paper that addresses the following:

  • Age, race and ethnicity, and partner status of the patient
  • Current health status, including chief concern or complaint of the patient
  • Contraception method (if any)

Creative Project: “Grand Challenges Raising Awareness Project: Using the Science of Social Work to Help Transform Society “

Grand Challenges Awareness Final
Project.

The overarching aim of Assignment 4 is to facilitate a studentвЂTMs ability to use the science of
social work to raise awareness about grand challenges facing social workers and to trigger
others to take action to positively impact social work grand challenges. The assignment consists
of two parts. The first part of the assignment presents an overview of a project presented in Part
2 of the assignment. While the first part of the assignment consists of short answer responses,
the approach and format of the project presented in the second part of the assignment will be
determined by the student.

ASSIGNMENT 4 GUIDELINES
Grand Challenges Raising Awareness Project:
Using the Science of Social Work to Help Transform Society (100 POINTS)

Aims of Assignment
The overarching aim of Assignment 4 is to facilitate studentsвЂTM ability to use the science of social work to raise awareness about grand challenges facing social workers and to trigger others to take action to positively impact social work grand challenges. Specific aims of the assignment include the following:

1) To provide students with an opportunity to use social work knowledge and data, as well as technology, in the context of professional practice.
2) To nurture and enhance studentвЂTMs creativity and its role in professional practice and in the translation of empirical evidence.
3) Through their leadership, to help students raise awareness about social workвЂTMs grand challenges and trigger others around the globe to take action that will positively impact the grand challenges.
4) To inspire students to use the science of social work to help transform society.

Background & Approach
Led by the American Academy of Social Work & Social Welfare (AASWSW), the Grand Challenges for Social Work is a groundbreaking initiative promoting the use of social work knowledge and science to improve individual and family well-being, strengthen the social fabric, and help create a more just society. The School of Social Work at USC has provided leadership in terms of the conceptualization and development of the Grand Challenges, as well as in responding to the Grand Challenges and implementation of the Grand Challenges.

Guided by our professionвЂTMs mission and values, and its emphasis on the person-in-environment perspective, Assignment 4 asks that you use the knowledge you obtained throughout the semester in order to raise awareness about the identified grand challenge related to the practice problem that you addressed in prior assignments and to trigger others to take action to positively impact that grand challenge. As you know, professional social workers view human behavior and development in relation to and in the context of systems. When working with clients, we attempt to prevent and treat problems faced by clients. At the same time, we attempt to change the societal conditions that create, contribute to, and address problems in living, such as oppression and human rights violations, and structural barriers (see NASW Code of Ethics). In this sense, Assignment 4 can be considered a “social actionвЂк assignment, that is, one in which you advance human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice by exercising leadership within the professional community.

Assignment 4 consists of two parts. While the first part of your assignment consists of short answer responses, the approach and format of the project presented in the second part of the assignment will be determined by YOU. To complete the assignment, please draw from your previous assignments, course readings, presentations, activities, and other materials. Also consider drawing from your professional and personal experiences.

Grading & Submission Guidelines
Assignment 4 comprises 15% of your final grade. Grading for the assignment will be based on a 100 point scale. The number of points each question or item is worth is indicated at the end of question/item. Points will be based on (a) the presence or absence of a response to each assignment question or item, (b) the completeness of your response, (c) the thoughtfulness of your response, (d) the creativity of your product, and (e) the correctness of your content.

пгѕ The assignment should be posted to the VAC by the end of the day on the specified due date.
пгѕ Use the following convention for naming your document:

the history of ATT’s efforts to acquire T-Mobile

This week's articles trace the history of ATT's efforts to acquire  T-Mobile.  As indicated in the second of the three articles, the US Govt  thwarted the deal.  Once you've read these first two articles, I'd like  you to pause and ask yourself what would you have done – block or  approve? And why?  Clearly, the cell phone market in the US is an  oligopoly, what characteristics do you feel it displays that make it so?  Then, I want you to resume reading the third article which discusses  what has happened since the deal was rejected by the US Govt.  Are you  surprised by the behavior of the market participants since the deal's  rejection and why?  Do you think what has happened in the market since  rejection is good for the companies? Consumers?  Do you see the behavior  of T-Mobile and the reactions of ATT and Verizon as short run actions;  what would you expect in the long run – will T-mobile continue to be a  disrupter?  I have just added a fourth article with some information  about another potential merger in the cell phone industry.  Does this  latest possible transaction seem to be a good idea for the companies?   For consumers?
