Human Resource Management

All character and company names are fictional and are not intended to depict any actual person or business.  Your work with UWEAR and PALEDENIM is coming to closure. You have sent an e-mail to the client requesting feedback on any final requests before you close the project. Teresa Tramlin, the chief executive officer (CEO), has sent you the following e-mail in response:  It has been a pleasure working with you on this project. For your final deliverable, we are requesting a comprehensive change management framework that we can use to build upon as we move forward. We realize that there is much to do to create the culture we envision and build allegiance to the merged organization. Mike and I need to fully understand our role as leaders as well as help our managers understand their role in building employee commitment. We look forward to your recommendation regarding strategies and tactics to successfully complete the merger, navigate through change, and align personnel, culminating in an effective, successful organization. As you reflect on this final deliverable, you realize that the new values-driven culture, including the code of conduct, represents just part of the change faced by the newly merged organization. Other areas of change include, but are not limited to, work roles, reporting structure, and key business processes.  Assignment  Recommend a change strategy and process for Theresa and Mike to follow. Applying concepts from this unit and prior units in the course, create your recommendation for Theresa and Mike that addresses, but is not limited to, the following:   Overall change management model, such as Lewin, Kotter, or ADKAR Explain the value of this model for the UWEAR-PALEDENIM scenario. Recommend specific actions related to application of the selected model. Managing the people side of change, including resistance Key leadership and management behaviors for effective change Identify topics about which you would like additional information to fully respond to the request for the change management framework.

FINANCES

TCC had sales for the year ended 12/31/15 of $50 million. The firm follows a policy of paying all net earnings out to its common stockholders in cash dividends. Thus, TCC generates no funds from its earnings that can be used to expand its operations. (Assume that depreciation expense is just equal to the cost of replacing worn-out assets.)

· If TCC anticipates sales of $80 million during the coming year, develop a pro forma balance sheet for the firm for 12/31/16. Assume that current assets vary as a percent of sales, net fixed assets remain unchanged, and accounts payable vary as a percent of sales. Use notes payable as a balancing entry.

· How much “new” financing will TCC need next year?

· What limitations does the percent-of-sales forecast method suffer from? Discuss briefly.

2. (Identifying spontaneous, temporary, and permanent sources of financing) classify each of the following sources of new financing as spontaneous, temporary, or permanent (explain):

• A manufacturing firm enters into a loan agreement with its bank that calls for annual principal and interest payments spread over the next four years.

• A retail firm orders new items of inventory that are charged to the firm’s trade credit.

• A Crown firm issues common stock to the public and uses the proceeds to upgrade its tractor fleet.

MT220 unit 6 assignment

Assignment: Working with your Zip-6 Scenario: Economic Risk and Foreign Investment

Economic Risk, according to Hill (2014), refers to “The likelihood that economic mismanagement will cause drastic changes in a country’s business environment that hurt the profit and other goals of a particular business enterprise.” (p.82). Ravi and Keith recently were contacted by a friend close to the Jordanian Royal Family about the possibility of acquiring a small Jordanian-owned bottling company located in Lebanon to manufacture Zip-6 and expand the brand in the Middle East. This firm is available due to the death of its principal shareholder, a Jordanian citizen. It is sound financially and enjoys strong customer support within the Kingdom of Jordan and is growing in sales within Lebanon. As a person of Iranian descent, Ravi would like to contribute to jobs creation and financial stability to that region of the world but expressed his concern about making any acquisition in that region because of the instability in the area and poor political leadership in many of the neighboring nations. Ravi has asked you to conduct some research on Lebanon and give him your professional opinion.

Use the CIA Factbook website.

real estate discussion question

One way to invest in real estate is by using your IRA as a "self-directed IRA" and buy real estate you choose with it. Go to  http://www.irafinancialgroup.com/llcpurchaserealestate.php  and read up on it and then describe the advantages and disadvantages of this strategy. Is this something you might consider? Why or why not?  (I do not endorse this company or website, this is strictly to provide an overview of the concept)

In order to score points you need to complete the assigned reading and answer the question from the reading assignment. Please feel free to do additional research on the topic. But, in all circumstances, make certain you document your source(s) of information.

You may certainly disagree with what is in the assigned reading/video, but you must reference where you obtained your information, your opinion on the topic, and why you disagree. Just writing your opinion on a topic without doing the reading assignment will score you zero (0) points.

Antecedents of Target Marketing

As stated in Lamb et al. (2014), to segment a market successfully, a marketer must consider certain criteria.

A market segment must be:

1. substantial (have enough potential customers to be viable),

2. identifiable and measurable,

3. composed of members accessible to marketing efforts, and

4. responsive to particular marketing initiatives to differentiate it from other market segments.

In marketing, segmentation is used to create market segment profiles for the purpose of targeting consumers. Marketers identify a target market as one of the following three different strategies:

· Undifferentiated targeting,

· Concentrated targeting, and

· Multi-segment targeting.

Lamb et al. (2014) explain that an undifferentiated target marketing strategy:

Assumes that all members of a market have similar needs that can be met with a single marketing mix. A concentrated targeting strategy focuses all marketing efforts on a single market segment. Multi-segment targeting is a strategy that uses two or more marketing mixes to target two or more market segments. (pp. 131–135)

To demonstrate your understanding of segmentation, target marketing, and positioning, watch the video case study on Numi Organic Tea and answer the related questions by following the instructions.

In your final paper you must state an argumentative thesis based on poetic elements and not just a series of ideas or facts about the poem.

             1)  A brainstorming paragraph that answers these questions:

Why were you drawn to this poem? What did you like about it?
What thesis about a theme do you see for an essay about this poem?  Remember that your thesis is grounded in the literary/poetic elements that support a theme in your poem. You may have more than one idea about a thesis on a theme. Review what a theme and a thesis are in Unit 2.
                      2)  An evidence paragraph that includes the following:

Include the poetic elements/terms a New Critic looks for to derive meaning from the structure of a poem. Review these poetic elements/terms in Learning Activities 3.3 and 3.6, and also in this link: Literary Terms .
Match the lines or phrases of your poem to the elements you will use and write them together in this paragraph.
Use MLA format (backslashes) to write the lines you have matched.
              3)  A conferencing paragraph in which you ask at least two questions about your ideas and fully explain why you have these questions. Any aspects of the poem (lines not understood, etc.) or essay writing (theme, thesis, structure, etc.) are appropriate.
