· Based on your reading of the 9 books, answer one of the following writing prompts. Write an essay using at least 1000 words.

(1) Choose three or more of the assigned children's literature books that depict a conflict. Write an essay in which you analyze the sources of conflict and explain how the conflict contributes to the meaning of the work. Remember to attend to text and illustrations (if included). Avoid summarizing the plots; instead, read critically and explore the sources of conflict.

(2) Although the assigned children's literature texts represent a range of topics and genres, many of the texts share thematic strands. Write an essay in which you explore the thematic connections across three or more of the texts. Remember to attend to text and illustrations (if included). Avoid summarizing the plots; rather, read critically and explore the thematic strands.

(3) From the assigned children's literature books, select at least three characters who are villains. Write an essay in which you analyze the nature of each character’s villainy and show how villainy enhances the meaning of each work. Remember to attend to text and illustrations (if included). Avoid summarizing the plots; rather, read critically and explore the characters' villainy.

· Please use and upload a Google doc link for this assignment. We will be using it to track changes for feedback. You will resubmit the link to demonstrate you have made the necessary changes (google doc tracks all changes and the date they were made).

· If you wish, you may revise your original assignment based on your grader's grading/commentary.  

· Also, use the textbook to guide your evaluation of the children's literature. This should be evident in your paper.
