"The Tata Nano: The People’s Car (A) and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs". Please respond to the following:

From the case study, categorize the Nano’s marketing segments that have the greatest influence on its sales. Assume you are the marketing manager at Tata responsible for consumer marketing. In your own words, outline a plan that Tata could implement in order to make the process to purchase the Nano more efficient for potential buyers.

* One way that marketers use Maslow’s Hierarchy is by identifying their product with a certain level of needs. Marketers use imagery in commercials to motivate customers to satisfy their needs using the company’s product. A great number of companies position their brands to make customers feel like their product or service will make them belong to a certain group or that they will receive social acceptance and respect. However, there are just as many brands that use pitches for reliability and security to make customers feel the companies’ products cover their basic needs.

You can find more on this topic can in your textbook on page 20 in section 2-3. From the scenario, analyze each level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and articulate the level which most affects you when making a purchase. Provide support for your rationale by utilizing an example. (Response: Friendship-Love and Belonging affects me when making a purchase)

HR Work

Resource: Avery Foster v. Federal Express Corp., 2006 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 53779 (E. Dist. Ct. MI)

The issue in the case is whether the company's employment handbook created an implied contract. Avery Foster was terminated for falsifying an employee timecard. He argued that he was told in his initial interview that he would be guaranteed employment at Federal Express as long as he was a good worker and was protected from "just cause" termination. The court found there was good cause to terminate Avery Foster and that the handbook did not create an implied contract of guaranteed employment.

Progressive discipline is an employee disciplinary process that provides a graduated and measured range of responses to employee performance or conduct issues. Critical thinking consideration: Short of termination, could progressive discipline have been effective in this matter?

Given the circumstances and issues that arose in the Avery Foster case, create the following:

  • Design a Progressive Discipline      Policy that would be appropriate for most organizations to follow, with      consideration to the following measures:

  • Identify the discipline issues       to be addressed: attendance, performance, conduct, or a single broad       category of non-performance.
  • Determine whether or not the       provisions of the policy should permit the company to modify and/or apply       the policy in any manner it deems appropriate under the circumstances,       including acceleration of steps, exclusion of steps, or repetition of       steps.
  • Assess when a supervisor may       act independently or needs to seek upper management approval.
  • Explain instructions on when       to involve Human Resources.
  • Clarify the role of Human       Resources to advise or approve disciplinary action.
  • Determine when a witness       should be present.
  • Outline the different       sequences and progressive levels of discipline that an employee can       receive.
  • Develop rules regarding merit       increases in relation to disciplinary action.

Write the policy in the third-person in no more than 1,400 words.

Use headings that appropriately signal the steps and keep your policy organized.

Use a minimum of three different research resources, and identify all sources in your Reference

  2. Discuss the type of diversity you would like to assess in the area and why. Make a hypothesis about the diversity you would expect to find.
  3. Create your plan.
    1. What data would you need to assess that kind of diversity? How could you collect that data?
    2. Create a hypothetical table of the data you might find in your area.

Solution to Population Growth

Solution to Population Growth

Option #1: Solutions to Population Growth

Reducing population growth is a rather controversial topic. Many different solutions have been proposed to help reduce population growth (in addition to those mentioned in your textbook) to help save the environment. Research different ideas to reduce population growth. Choose three options you found that you think would be the best options to reduce population growth in the United States. Compose an argumentative paper to describe the solutions and why you think they are the best options for the United States. In the paper you should:

  1. Summarize the problem with human population growth in the United States.
  2. Present the three options you think would be good to help reduce population growth in the United States and describe why they would be good options. How will their impact be beneficial for the environment?
  3. For each of your options, present an opposing view and then describe why that view is not valid.
  4. Design a test to assess the solution you think may be the best. First provide your hypothesis presented in the following format: If this happens/is controlled this way, this will be observed. Describe how data would be gathered and then the expected results.

Requirements:

  • Your written paper should be three to four pages in length not counting the title and reference pages, which you must include.
  • You need to cite at least three sources for this assignment
  • Your paper must be formatted according to APA Citations
