As you can see in the chart above, though the United States has had the highest health care expenditure in the world, the health status of the entire population has lagged behind numerous developed countries. The Affordable Care Act is aimed at promoting quality of care along with cost reduction, but health care organizations wrestle with meeting all of the challenges.

Present to your classmates a quality improvement & cost saving project that you read about in a scholarly source, addressing the following eight key questions:

  • What was the health care setting (hospital, clinic, nursing home, etc.)?
  • What were the problems/issues leading to the change project?
  • Who were the stakeholders involved in the project?
  • What was the timeframe involved in the project?
  • What were the financial resources allocated to the project?

In this assignment, you will apply key concepts covered in the module readings. You will identify the component parts of arguments and differentiate between various types of arguments such as inductive and deductive. You will then construct specific, original arguments.

There are two parts to the assignment. Complete both parts. The following is a summary of the assignment tasks.

Part 1

  • 1a: Identify Components of Arguments
    Identify the component parts of the argument, premises and conclusion, for the passages. Where applicable, highlight key words or phrases that identify a claim as a premise or a conclusion. Part 1a has three questions.
  • 1b: Identify Arguments as Inductive or Deductive 
    Identify the arguments as inductive or deductive for given passages. Offer a brief explanation why each argument is either inductive or deductive. 1b has three questions.

Westport Communications

The CEO of Westport Communications, the company you work for, has temporarily decided that the training function should be put on hold due to a downturn in revenue and a downsizing of employees within the company. The CEO feels that, since no new employees are being hired at the present time, no additional training is necessary.
