Critical Reading

Critical Reading

1) Read Thinking Like a Lawyer, Chapter 3: “The Practice and Problems of Precedent”

2) Write

a) Show me what you did to master the material in Chapter 3.  You may prepare an outline, write a summary, make a list of vocabulary words, draw a diagram, send me a photo of your copy of the reading with notes all over it, or use any other method that works for you; AND

b) Write a paragraph explaining why you used this method.  Is this the method you use for all of your classes and, if not, what do you do for other classes?  How, if at all, do you plan to change your critical reading habits for law school?  Consider how you will read both cases and academic discussions of the law, such as textbooks and law review articles.
