Fitbit Inc. is a private start-up company specializing in consumer electronics related to the health and fitness industry. The company is headquartered in San Francisco CaliforniaThe problem that is solved in the marketplace when it comes to the fitbit has to do with health. The fitbit helps to transform peoples lives with these wearable devices that can help people monitor and be inspired to increase their daily routines. The manufacturers of the fitbit embarked on a journey to create a wearable product that would change the way we move and bring amazing experiences to fitness and health. These wearable bracelets are Bluetooth and wireless making them compatible with most smartphones allowing the user to better track and monitor their daily activities. The potential customers are any people that like anything to do with fitness. It is a great way of tracking your daily intakes and monitoring your sleep and of course your exercise. Fitbit was founded in early 2007 by James Park and Eric Friedman who saw the potential for using sensors in small wearable devices. They raised $400000 but soon realised that that wasn’t enough so they did the rounds of potential investors with little more than a circuit board in a wooden box. I have a fitbit myself and I am very impressed. I was skeptical as to how well Fitbits sleep tracking would work. For me it wasnt a make-or-break deal but I was delighted to discover that sleep tracking works and the data it provides is very insightful. It tracks movement throughout the nightnot sleepwalking spellsbut rather movements of the wrist while in bedlike when you roll over or reposition. Flex records how long it took the wearer to fall asleep how many hours/minutes they slept and how many times they awakened in the night; then it compiles all those stats into a single sleep efficiency grade from 0-100 percent.
