What is the significance of the title in the poem Leaves, by Sam Hamod?Tonight, Sally…

Tonight, Sally and I are making stuffed
grape leaves, we get out a package, it’s
drying out, I’ve been saving it in the freezer, it’s
one of the last things my father ever picked in this
life – they’re over five years old
and up to now
we just kept finding packages of them in the
freezer, as if he were still picking them
somewhere packing them
carefully to send to us
making sure they didn’t break into pieces.
“To my Dar Garnchildn
Davd and Lura
from Thr Jido”
twisted on tablet paper
between the lines
in this English lettering
hard for him even to print,
I keep this small torn record,
this piece of paper stays in the upstairs storage,
one of the few pieces of American
my father ever wrote. We find his Arabic letters
all over the place, even in these files we find
letters to him in English, one I found from Charles Atlas
telling him, in 1932,
“Of course, Mr. Hamod, you too can build
your muscles like mine. . .”

Last week my mother told me, when I was
asking why I became a poet, “But don’t you remember,
your father made up poems, don’t you remember him
singing in the car as we drove – those were poems.”
Even now, at night, I sometimes
get out the Arabic grammar book
though it seems so late

Can anyone please summarize this, to make it shorter? Thanks!Dolphins, like humans,…

Dolphins, like humans, enjoy to play and be free. Dolphins play with each other as they are growing up and even as adults. Scientists have observed them in the wild enjoying games with each other, boats and sometimes trying to engage other animals in their play. Humans are very similar and seek the same kind of freedom which dolphins have, not wanting to solely concentrate on the necessities of life, such as work, education, and providing for oneself and family.

Additionally, dolphins are social creatures, like humans, and live in groups. They work together and play together throughout their lives and do not separate from the group on purpose. Humans are much the same and do not easily separate from their society or culture.

Dolphins fully represent the freedom which humans strive to obtain because they do not seem to have the anxieties and pressures which humans place on themselves or allow others to place on them. Rather dolphins seem to have perfected the balance of play and work to survive and enjoy their life.

Argue whether Heathcliff was either redeemable or justified in his actions. Since faith -in a strictly religious sense of the word-is not a major- or actually minor thread , matters of obligation towards one’s fellow man(or woman)
and morality are left up to the individual reader’s own philosophy.

In chapter 31 (about three pages in from the-“it would be odd if I thwart myself, ” he muttered…”but , when I look for his father in his face.
I find  her very day more! How the devil is he so like ? I can hardly bear to see him.”  while heathcliff may not regret his horrible actions
He is aware that he is paying for them by the slowly creeping possession of his soul ; he is being punished by not being able to shake the images of those he helped to destroy.
just as catherine declared herself as one with him heathcliff is now bound to her memory .
does this make any sense? do i ever?
take it away my esteemed partner in literature.

Everyday at 12 noon, Paige faces the same dilemma.  The local siren sounds to signal the mid-day and Paige’s 4-year old daughter, Natasha begin to cry.  This was not always the case, but a month ago, there was a small kitchen fire at their residence.  The day of the fire Robyn attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher but decided it was better to call 911.  Paige grabbed Natasha and ran out of the house.  Men and women hurried out of large, loud trucks wearing black suits and helmets.  They seemed to storm onto her property and into her house, and Natasha was left confused and afraid by the experience. Since then, almost like clockwork, every day when the siren sounds, Natasha clings to her mother and burst into tears.  Paige has discovered the fastest way to comfort her daughter is to give her a lollipop.  When she receives candy, Natasha calms down immediately.  Paige, however, is not convinced that she is doing the right thing as a parent. I need help with the questions below?

Gatsby Intro Paragraph-Help!A descendent of immigrants himself, current Los Angeles…

A descendent of immigrants himself, current Los Angeles Mayor Villaigarosa, once deliberated about the idea of coming to America. He said, “we come to work, we come for a better life.. [and] to participate in the American dream”. According to the Miriam-Webster dictionary, this dream, which is dreamt by immigrants arriving to the United States everyday, is “an American social ideal that stresses egalitarianism and material prosperity”. Though with persistence and a touch of luck one can achieve material prosperity, through F. Scott Fitzgerald’s, The Great Gatsby and its critique of society, the reader is dumbfounded to realize that maybe this dream is not as achievable and as grand as they once thought it to be. That despite what they have been told, they will never amount to as much or be considered as one of the social elite and are confined to the class of which they are born. Ultimately though The Great Gatsby, is a novel about the distorted fairy-tale-like perception of the American Dream by the large majority –those who strive to achieve the unachievable- and the ugly truth behind the glittering façade of the social elite. Through the eyes of key characters such as: Tom Buchanan, Nick Carraway, Jay Gatsby, and George Wilson, who each portray a different aspect of the American society of the time, Fitzgerald exposes, and forces the reader to acknowledge the flaws and imperfections of such a delusional dream.

Are filmstars and cricketers given too much importance in our society?Indians breathe…

Indians breathe in every day with these areas of profession giving us a reason to exuberate, gossip, to flaunt our knowledge and to quickly grab attention of the people we are walking along with. No doubt, Bollywood, filmstars and  cricketers are the binding factors for the people of our nation. We rejoice in a festive mood and extend our full support when our team wins,or a Bollywood blockbuster touches our hearts , but is not this binding at the cost of negligence of other important areas we should give heed to?
Looking on the other side of the picture, we leave out issues like poverty, population, unemployment, corruption and terrorism from our daily scope of discussion. . Its only when we think, discuss, spread our constructive ideas, do something productive about the important issues of reducing poverty, unemployment etc. that we can contribute in gigantic efforts required in eliminating them. It becomes an important responsibility of the youth of our nation to give due importance to obstacles in the growth of our country. At the present rate of development, the vision 2020 seems to remain just a dream than a possible accomplishment.

Could you please tell me what is a “singing compulsion” in the following excerpt from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, chapter 1:

I looked back at my cousin who began to ask me questions in her low, thrilling voice. It was the kind of voice that the ear follows up and down as if each speech is an arrangement of notes that will never be played again. Her face was sad and lovely with bright things in it, bright eyes and a bright passionate mouth—but there was an excitement in her voice that men who had cared for her found difficult to forget : a singing compulsion, a whispered “Listen,” a promise that she had done gay, exciting things just a while since and that there were gay, exciting things hovering in the next hour.

In precise that the narrators says also:

I’ve heard it said that Daisy’s murmur was only to make people lean toward her.

Her voice compelled me forward breathlessly as I listened.

Thank you.

I have to write a short story that illustrates changing perspective. I’ve decided on a plot; where a newly wed girl gets pregnant but doesn’t want children because she and her partner can’t financially support a family yet. She loves children and is a kindergarten teacher. However, she decides to give the baby up for adoption at birth. Over the course of the nine months she is being constantly persuaded to keep the baby, and receives lovely cards from her kindergarteners. Her friends and family offer their help and support during and after the birth, and during the birth she finds out she is having identical twins; which she sees as a sign of God. She decides to keep the babies and in the end she says all the pain was worth it, and watching her children grow up has made all the difference, and that she doesn’t regret a thing.
