Race

Race

David M. Newman discusses how the media is a major source of information about human differences. In this response paper, describe two examples of media representation of people different from yourself in some way (gender, race, sexuality, class, disability, religion, etc.)  These examples can be from any types of media you like. One of these examples must be one that you feel positively reflects a group; the other must be an example that you feel negatively reflects a group.  Explain your opinion.

Do I Have a Core Essence?

Do I Have a Core Essence?

The purpose of this discussion assignment is to reflect upon your understanding of different historical and philosophical approaches to the self. After completing your readings, write a 2–3-page paper explaining the avocado/essentialist idea of the self. Remember to explain specific theories with supporting citations from the textbook and online lectures. (Here is a guide to help you with APA-style citations.). Review and comment on the posts of other students and the instructor by the end of the week. As you develop your response, you might find some of the following questions to be relevant: What is the core essence human beings are said to share? What are some of the differences/similarities between the avocado and artichoke views of the self? What is the relationship between human and divine nature?

Emergency Strategy Report

1. Prepare an individual report demonstrating that you a) understand the key ideas presented in the assigned and recommended readings for Week 1 and b) can analyze critically the extent to which they are applicable in your current workplace. Your report should be 800-1000 words and must cite supporting evidence from the readings (or the Week 1 discussion). Your report should be double-spaced and use APA format. The title page, reference list, and any appendices are not included in this suggested word count. You do not need to include an abstract.

2. If you are unemployed currently, contact your faculty member for guidance on choosing another firm.

3. The questions your report must address are: What business model does your company use? What is your organization’s vision and mission? What objective evidence is there that your organization’s vision, mission, and objectives is helping it gain a sustainable competitive advantage. Only briefly touch on what objective evidence, using the Three Tests of a Winning Strategy, is there that your organization’s vision, mission, and objectives support its strategy? (We will address the three tests in more detail later) Be sure to introduce your argument, explain your understanding of key terms, present your reasoning, and include independently verifiable supporting evidence.

List and explain the five components that should be taken into consideration when a company is developing its pricing objectives.

Must be one page minimum!! Be sure to fully and completely answer each question. I am not looking for your to regurgitate what is in the textbook. Rather, students who analyze, synthesize, and evaluate course material and are able to effectively articulate the information indicating understanding, will earn higher grades.

Please respond to the following questions:

1. List and explain the five components that should be taken into consideration when a company is developing its pricing objectives. Write a sentence or two (or short paragraph) for each of the five components.

2. Differentiate between the four levels of competition and offer an example of each type.

3. Give examples of the kinds of information flows that take place between a store and its consumers, a distribution center, and a warehouse, using a sentence or two for each example.

4. Why does conflict arise in the supply chain? How do partnering relationships help to reduct conflict?

Please write your answers with an academic tone. That is, use full sentences and paragraphs and without bullet points or numbered lists. Provide a list of items only when the question specifically requires you to provide a list. Do not use contractions in formal writing. Use proper grammar, syntax, and spelling.

Discussion 2: Disenfranchisement Of The Social Security Program

Discussion 2: Disenfranchisement Of The Social Security Program

While Social Security provides a safety net of sorts for millions of people, there are still many groups who are not adequately served by this program. For example, there are disparities in the Social Security benefits women receive in comparison to men.

For this Discussion, review this week’s resources. Also, conduct some Internet research to select a population that you think might be disenfranchised by the Social Security program. Consider how the population you selected might be disenfranchised by the Social Security program.

By Day 4

Post a brief description of the population you selected. Then, explain how that population might be disenfranchised by the Social Security program based on research, statistics, or policy analysis.

Support your post with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.

Validate User Input Using Java Chars And Strings

Validate User Input Using Java Chars And Strings

In this assessment, you will design and code a Java console application that validates the data entry of a course code (like IT4782) and report back if the course code is valid or not valid. The application uses the Java char and String data types to implement the validation. You can use either the Toolwire environment or your local Java development environment to complete this assessment.

Your program output should look like the sample output provided in the “Validate User Input Using Java Chars and Strings Instructions” course file resource. Full instructions for successfully completing this assessment are included in this resource. Use the submission template (WeekXSolutionSubmissionTemplate.docx).

Your assessment will be scored on the following criteria:

Design a program that meets char and String processing requirements.

Code an application that validates data entry.

Test the application and document that testing.

Explain the approach taken to complete data validation and the major decisions made.

Identify relevant fundamental constructs in a submitted program.

Conduct a critical review of ONE of this week’s assigned scholarly readings (SEE ABOVE) addressing the items below. Be sure to provide literature support where applicable.

  • Identify the paper you will be      critiquing, and provide insight as to why it was selected over the others.
  • Describe the problem addressed. Why is      it important? Is this an agreed-upon problem?
  • Describe what was accomplished by the      study. What was not achieved?
  • Describe the methodology the study      utilized. Was it appropriate? Justify.
  • Describe the study results and the      contribution it made to the body of knowledge, if any.

What other methods could have been utilized?
  • Identify at least two possible areas of      research extension or future work. Justify those areas of future work with      citations from the scholarly literature beyond the article being reviewed.

Justify your writing with evidence from the scholarly literature beyond the article being reviewed.

Length: 4-5 pages not including title page and references

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
