Project Deliverable 2: Innovation and Competitive Analysis

Due Week 5 and worth 150 points

From  the same case that you have chosen for Deliverable 1, you will advise  the CEO on ways forward for the company. In addition, you will examine  the competitive environment, and discuss frameworks for evaluating  various strategies for the company.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

1. Use  a framework of your choice (e.g., Porter’s Five Forces of Competition  from the textbook) to perform a competitive analysis of the company’s  industry. Support your response.
2. Select at least two (2)  innovative and technology trends that the company or its competitors  introduced. Next, examine the feasibility and expected market impact of  the trends you selected. Provide a rationale for your response.
3. Assess  the company’s situation (e.g., its capabilities, resources, etc.)  regarding its recent development. Provide support for your response.
4. Give  your opinion as to whether the company’s organizational structure  supports or impedes its ability to innovate and be a successful company.  Justify your answer.
5. Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

• Be  typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with  one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA  or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional  instructions.
• Include a cover page containing the title of the  assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title,  and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in  the required assignment page length.

Imagine that you are a hospital’s compliance officer, and you are charged with making a presentation to your hospital’s board of directors regarding the moral right to health care. Your presentation should include at least three of the elements learned throughout this course, which could include, but are not limited to the code of ethics, resource allocation, Stark Law, medical malpractice, and/or cultural competency.

First: Create a PowerPoint presentation that addresses the issue of the moral right to healthcare. Your presentation must include at least five slides (not including a cover slide and reference slide).

Next: Present your PowerPoint using the program of your choice — Screencast-O-Matic (Links to an external site.), Jing (Links to an external site.), MP3 or MP4 — by providing the voiceover (audio) for your meeting/presentation, and then upload your video file to send to me. Your screencast presentation should be between 3 and 5 minutes long. The use of a screencast program is required. Adding audio to your PowerPoint presentation does not count as a screencast.

Please remember: This is a PowerPoint presentation being provided to the board of directors (BOD). Picture the audience as the board of directors. Therefore, as in any presentation, it is very important not to overload your slides with too much information or to place your entire script onto your slides. Your PowerPoint slides should have summarized bullet points with the bulk of what you are going to say to the BOD below the slide in the Notes Section, and please do not forget that your in-text citations should be in the notes section matching those sources listed in your reference slide.

1. Choose one of the 4 key tenets of good supply chains, describe it, then identify a company that has had a problem with one (any one) of the tenets and describe the challenge.

2. The Barilla Spa case put forward an idea for JIT distribution (JITD) or now better known as Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) … a concept now made popular by Walmart among others.  Investigate how Walmart has used VMI as a key element in their Every Day Low Pricing model to the market.  Specifically tell me about how they communicate demand to suppliers, how inventory from suppliers is stored and moved up and down the (echelon) supply chain, and how/when suppliers are paid for their products.

This capstone course will require a BEST PRACTICES PRESENTATION which will consist of a PowerPoint presentation. The project presentation will be a detailed presentation worth 100 points that will be due at the end of the 6th week. 

The project presentation should demonstrate knowledge in the chosen area. The presentation should be formatted as follows: 

Apply a Design Theme of your choice 

Use APA style correctly throughout the presentation 

Use correct grammar and punctuation 

Format correctly and consistently 

Include a title slide (introduction slide) at the beginning of the presentation and a conclusion slide at the end of the presentation, and a reference slide using APA format at the end of the presentation.

Cite references within the presentation using correct APA format 

Include a minimum of 16 slides which will include the cover and reference slides 

Include at least one figure or one table in the presentation and format in APA style

The second step in planning a unit plan is to prepare the instructional strategies that can make connections across multiple areas of science content.

Part 1: Instructional Strategies – Science Unit Plan

For this assignment, you will research instructional strategies and describe how they can connect multiple areas of science. Use these specific instructional strategies to support your grade/developmental level, standards, and learning objectives for the unit plan.

Continue developing the “Science Unit Plan” by completing the following components of the unit plan: 

• Instructional Strategy/Strategies Used: Each chosen strategy should provide opportunities for independent study, active inquiry, collaboration, and/or supportive interaction in the elementary classroom. Use a combination of instructional strategies that are best suited for each lesson and student.
• Summary of Instruction and Activities: Write a brief summary of instruction, activities, and learning content of each lesson to connect students’ prior knowledge to key science concepts through application of major standards-based concepts and modes of inquiry.

The details of the “Science Unit Plan” will continue to be fully developed and revised throughout the duration of the course, culminating in a complete unit plan due in Topic 5.

Part 2: Reflection

In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on the process of continuing your unit plan and deciding on instructional strategies that best complement your standards, learning objectives, and lesson plan. How do your instructional strategies promote critical thinking and problem solving skills? Explain how you will use this process in your future professional practice.

Support your reflection with at least two scholarly resources.

Submit the “Science Unit Plan” and reflection as one deliverable.
