Instructions for writing a summary response paper are included in the lecture. Be sure to refer to these prior to delving into the content of your paper.  Your paper should accomplish the following:

1.      Introduction: Thesis statement, information about the article.

oBe sure to note key information in the article: author, time and place of publication and article title.

oBe sure to note the main thesis of the article that includes the authors key ideas and intentions.

2.      Summary: Your analysis of the article.  Be sure to write in the objective third person.

oRefer to the author and not the article during your examination of key points as articles are inanimate.

3.      Response (body paragraphs): Note where you agree, or disagree with ideas, and points the author asserts in the article.

oBe sure to paraphrase and cite in-text as you develop academic paragraphs that have a topic sentence, evidence, and analysis of the ideas you are exploring.

4.      Conclusion: Note the main implications of the article, any gaps you see in the research, or where you think you can look further for information.

Expand on your group discussion post in which you summarized an article.

POSTER
Prepare a two sided A4 poster using Microsoft Publisher or equivalent. Save as a PDF file, attach a reference list and submit via Turnitin. There is no word limit for poster, however, 700 words is recommended, not less than 700 word please.

REFLECTION
Question for 1000 word reflection:
”Critically reflect on the importance of intercultural competence for effectively working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families, in the context of schooling”.

A 1000 word (max) reflection (essay format). This should be accompanied by an Appendix containing responses to ALL Reflection Activities in the Online Lecture Modules 2, 3 and 4. Please not that the total words for the Appendix is 1050 word reflection at the end of each aforementioned modules (2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3) see the modules in the uploaded files section for more information. You need to mention the number of the module at the appendix section then put the reflection. The reflections ranges between 100 to 150 word for each module, except module 4.1 which you need to write 50 word only, and module 4.2 you will need to write 200 word.
