The Impact Of Standardized Nursing Terminology
Among the Resources in this module is the Rutherford (2008) article Standardized Nursing Language: What Does It Mean for Nursing Practice? In this article, the author recounts a visit to a local hospital to view the recent implementation of a new coding system.

- You are part of the Sheriff’s Office that supports a mid-size city of 400,000 people. Your jail holds 2,000 prisoners, several of whom are awaiting trial, while others are pending release. The northwestern United States has experienced a blackout. Washington, Oregon, and Idaho are all without power. Assume your state and jurisdiction is located in either Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.
