Aligning IT Strategies to Business Strategies

Delta Corporation has been very impressed with the progress it has made with its new product line and the new marketing approach that you recommended and instigated. As a result, it is now considering expanding this approach for its other product lines, providing them with the ability to market and sell all of its products online. However, it has not considered the implications for its IT department in developing this type of plan. As the Social Media Marketing Consultant, you are familiar with integrating business and IT strategic planning. They have called upon you to provide advice. You need to:

  • Explain what the company needs to consider if it is going to move to a more on-line approach for its sales and marketing activities. In particular, describe the consequences for its IT department and why they need to be involved in the planning phase.
  • Given the likely increase in costs associated with this move, you need to outline the potential benefits and possible pitfalls of outsourcing the IT maintenance and development.
  • Outline some strategic technology trends that the company may wish to monitor and consider for the future.

Finally, write about a company in Saudi Arabia and discuss whether they were able to align their overall strategy and their IT strategy. If they were successful discuss how they managed this alignment and what benefits they gained from doing so. If they were not so successful, explain how and why you felt that occurred.

Importance note to follow:

1.  Your well-written report should be 4-5 pages in length, not including the title and reference pages. To make it easier to read and therefore grade.

2.  make sure you clearly delineate each section of your answer so it can be matched with the relevant question.

3.  Use APA7 style guidelines, citation reference at least four references as appropriate.

4.  Make sure no plagiarism

5.  In the attachment the related book chapter 12

PROPERTY TAXING

Find a website that lists the property taxing statutes in the state of Georgia. Cite and explain those parts of the statute that you believe provide a definition of charity.  I suspect you will be challenged to find such a definition or one that is detailed enough to be helpful to a health care leader. Why or why not is the definition poorly defined?

SPSS Assignment Part II

SPSS Assignment 2

I.  Task 1 One Sample t Test

What you will submit for Task 1: One sample t test output for the study below.

  1. You want to study the effects of caffeine on memory and you have 30 subjects who are willing to participate in your study. So you give your subjects a caffeine pill, give some time for the pill to take effect and then give them some time to study a list of 10 words and then test them for recall.  You have done this memory test countless times with past subjects under the same conditions (but these subjects were not-caffeinated) and you found that their mean recall was ( = 6) but you did not collect the standard deviation.  So in this experiment you know the population mean ( = 6) but do not know the population standard deviation. Run a one sample t test with the data below to see if caffeine improves memory recall.

  2. Enter the data into Column 1
  3. In Variable View: Name your variable (CAFFEINE for Column 1), Specify Type (Numeric), Specify the type of Measure (Scale).
  4. From the Analyze menu at the top, choose Compare Means
  5. Choose One-Sample t test from the list of tests.
  6. In the Variable window, highlight your variable and then use the arrow to move it into the Test Variable box.
  7. Enter your known population mean ( = 6) into the Test Value box.
  8. Click OK; your statistics will appear in the Output window.
  9. There are many ways to save your output. A nifty function that I like is to use the Export function.  This exports the data to an MS word doc which allows you to manipulate the data quite easily and put into one document.  To do this, in your data output, choose the icon that represents Export (or from the Files Section choose Export) and for Objects to Export select All Visible and then voila!  Another way is to copy and paste the outputs and put them into a word document. To do this, I left click on the t test output and then right click and copy, and then I go to my word document and right click and press paste.  There are other ways to save your output into one document.  Feel free to do whatever works for you.

II.  Task 2 Paired Samples t Test

What you will submit for Task 2: Paired samples t test output for the study below.

You want to study the effects of caffeine on memory and you have 30 participants. You decide to do a within-subjects design using a pre-test/post-test.  So you give your subjects a fake caffeine pill (placebo) and some time for the pill to take effect. Then you give them some time to study a list of 10 words and test them on recall. You then give them a break to rest their mind, and subsequently you give your same subjects a real caffeine pill, give some time for the pill to take effect, give them the same amount of time to study a similar but different list of 10 words and test them for recall.

Column 1 below contains the scores of your subjects after they took the caffeine pill (post-test)

Column 2 below contains the scores of your subjects with the fake caffeine pill (placebo). (pre-test)

III.             Task 3 Independent Samples t Test

What you will submit for Task 3: Independent samples t test output for the study below.

You want to study the effects of caffeine on memory and you have 60 participants. You decide to do a between-subjects design using simple random assignment.  So you randomly assign subjects to two groups: Caffeine pill and Placebo pill.  So you give your subjects the pill and some time for the pill to take effect. Then you give both groups the same amount of time to study the same list of 10 words and then test them on recall.

Column 1 contains the scores from both groups. The first 30 scores are from the caffeine group and the second 30 scores are from the placebo group.

Column 2 contains thirty 1s and thirty 2s.  The 1s will be your caffeine group and the 2s will be your placebo group.

  1. Describe why you think the participants in the Stanley Milgram experiment overrode their own morals to obey authority. Then explain why people are vulnerable to this behavior.
  2. How do you think you would have acted in this experiment if you were a participant and it was conducted today? Be honest.

HR Training Project

How can address the following when thinking about training for customer service

  • What methods would you use? How and when would you implement them? Be specific in your description of activities using your methods.
  • Why would the methods you chose to use be effective?
  • How could technology be incorporated into the training?
  • What potential drawbacks do you see with your planned methods?
  • Discuss the costs associated with your methods. Roughly how much money and work will be required (upfront and ongoing) to implement and maintain these training methods?

Helpful Tips

Use your Week 2 assignment and make sure you incorporated your instructors feedback and have improved your previously submitted work for Part 1 and Part 2, Section 2 (Product).
Understanding the background of the company will help you complete the SWOT analysis.
Propose a new idea to market the product or service line. Avoid writing about or proposing the current marketing strategy.
This is your idea, so use the SWOT analysis to defend it.
Use the information you researched and analyzed in the Week 4 video presentation to complete Part 1, Section 3.
Analyze some micro- and macroenvironment factors that affect the companys overall marketing strategy.
You need to provide enough details to the information you included in your slides to fit well with the rest of the paper.
Make sure you incorporated your instructors feedback and have improved your previously submitted work for this part.
Use the information you researched and analyzed in the Week 4 discussion forum, Finding and Targeting Your People, to complete Part 2, Section 1.
You need to beef up the information you discussed in that discussion forum to align it with your overall marketing plan.
Review and refer to Section 7.3 of the course text, Principles of Marketing.
Spend considerable time completing Part 2, the Marketing Plan; this is the essence of your plan.
Someone should be able to understand your plan, just by reading this section only.

Heat waste

Increasing the temperature wil reduce the dissolved oxygen which the fish are rely so temperature is not increased in water bodies.

Bottom Ash : falls to bottom of furnace, larger particles, heavier and it contains inorganic and organics that don’t burn.

Fly Ash : Lighter by weight, smaller particles that “fly” up in the air and can be captured by air[pollution control equipment.

Ashi is 25% by weight and 5% by volume of the original waste.

Thus, combustion reduced waste mass by 75 and volume by 95%.

Problem with ash :

It disposal and potential environment contamination.

Ash

Test for determining whether metals leaching is a problem.

LEAF : Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework.

Concentration of leached metals is 100x drinking water, ash is classified as hazardous waste.

Fly ash is often a hazardous waste; bottom ash is not.

Mixture : Non-hazardous.

Reduce metals leaching : use as n building blocks, add lime or limestone to raise pH so metals is in insoluble form,

Beneficial ways to reuse ash:

· Road base, asphalt concrete, Portland cement concrete

· Adsorbents

· Capping Strip mines

Sustainability : what does it mean to engineer :

Sustainability :

Remember three pillars for sustaninability which is People, Planet and profit.

City of Philadelphia v. Fleming Co., 264 F3d 1245, 10th Cir. (2001)

In this case the court discusses in detail what a plaintiff in a securities fraud case has to show in order to prevail.  What evidence is required in order to show that the defendant “deliberately” made misleading statements or omissions to potential stockholders.

Cultural Comparison

Cultural Comparison

In this module we learned that most people learn about people, places, and things through mediated representation. Earlier, we learned that whomever controls communication systems, controls perception. This phenomenon is easily seen in representational media platforms such as news. In short, representations have consequences and all representations have a “point of view”. Related to discourse (in the language chapter), words build certain understandings of people/places and things and those understandings influence and fuel behavior toward them.

Prompt:  Background: To understand how the representation of a current social/political issue affects people’s beliefs and attitudes as well as our behavior, compare and constrast two articles (about the same topic of your choice) that portray the perspective of mainstream/dominant U.S. Americans versus a particular non-dominant co-cultural group (e.g., Latinos, LGBTQ). It is best to choose articles published by disparate sources (i.e., national/international, liberal/conservative). For example, you could compare an article from U.S. News & World Report on the issue of gay marriages and an article from a magazine that is targeted toward a gay audience. Keep in mind that the articles need to be about the SAME EVENT or you’ll end of comparing apples and oranges!

Once you have read both articles, write a short essay analyzing how the perceptions lead us to particular ways of thinking about the issue. You must incorporate chapter/lecture ideas. DO NOT SIMPLY DESCRIBE WHAT YOU READ.
