The concept of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was developed by Simon Kuznets in 1937 and has been used almost universally since that time. The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. Current reasoning holds that the traditional measure of economic success, Gross Domestic Product or GDP, is too narrow and does not capture true economic well-being, especially in a Post Covid world.  Accordingly, the Forum has developed a Dashboard/Scorecard in four dimensions as follows.

Couture Coffee (a fictitious company) is a specialty packaged coffee company that prides itself on bean selection for flavor and the highest quality control to ensure every bag of beans or ground coffee is made with the best quality Fair Trade beans. 

Couture Coffee does business in the United States, Canada and Brazil. However, as the world recovers from the recession and emerging countries populations have more disposable income, Couture Coffee sees this as a possible opportunity to expand further into and beyond the Americas.

 Business Buyers In this brief writing assignment, you will evaluate the four (4) different business markets identified in Chapter 8 — producer, reseller, government and institutional. List the categories of business buyers and provide a synopsis of each.

  Describe the purpose of the purchase with respect to resale, direct use in producing other products, and use in general daily operations.

Many professions today still have gender stereotypes associated with them. In the past decade or so, many have begun to “open their doors” to other genders such as the military, nursing, sports media/broadcasting, law enforcement to name a few. Why has it taken so long for these gender barriers to come down? Why did they exist in the first place?
