HIST 307 – How did science and stereotypes
How did science and stereotypes, prejudices, or social presuppositions about race interact in the period since about 1800? Consider how science reinforced or undermined societies' assumptions about race, and the role it played in supporting (and maybe later ending) European/Euro-American global dominance. You may want to consider the role of gender in this period, either with regard to the study of women or to the role of women as scientists.
