The next stepin your strategic marketing plan is to determine the tools that are needed to conduct an analysis of the industry and competitors. Complete the following:

Part 2: Practice with building mass balance models. Hint Chapter 4 of your textbook will be a good reference for this task. Devise a simple conceptual model that represents mass energy or material flow through any system of your choosing. Think boldly and broadly then draw a picture of your conceptual model making sure to include the elements listed below. Clearly define the elements in your model on your diagram. Then test it to see if it works! For example if you are developing a conceptual model of the fate of socks in your house can you track the fate of your socks through the entire house? If you purchase new socks and discard old can you account for these actions in your model? a. The Compartment: This represents where and in what form the stock is stored in a system. For example if you are interested in a model of your finances you would define the compartment as your bank account. c. The system boundary: This represents the bounds on the system of interest. It clearly indicates what is outside the system and what is internal. The movement of mass energy materials etc. is with respect to this boundary. b. The Stock: The stock (M) is simply the fundamental unit that is being tracked balanced and inventoried. It is an amount. For example a conceptual model of your finances has as the stock dollars or M$ (if confined to the U.S.). If you are developing a conceptual model of the fate of socks in your house then the stock is the quantity of socks or Msocks. c. Flows: The flows (F) represent the rate of input output transformations of stock in your compartment in units of stock/unit time. The flow of income ($/month) into your bank account represents an input while spending the money represents a mechanism that money flows out of your bank account (in units of $/month). Transformations also represent flows out of your compartment but in this case the stock within the compartment changes form.

For this assignment each student in the class will be assigned a role in the Camelot simulation. To ensure that you understand your role and the positions that your role will take during the simulation you must write a character profile. Please refer to pages 174 194 in the Camelot text book for a brief role description of your assigned character. Reasons Transportation Demand Management should be implemented
Over the years the inflation rate has skyrocketed leading to high cost of fuel. At the same time the cost and duration that is wasted by travelers in the traffic jam are the main reasons the Transportation Demand Management should be implemented (Oberstar 2008). However there are a lot of people over all the world who are buying cars each passing days. These cars are mostly used in urban setting leading to congestion and traffic jams. The cost and duration wasted by travelers are the main reasons the TDM should be implemented to ensure that there are sustainability and efficiency in the transport industry (Gubbins 2003). Besides among the increased number of players within the industry the government has one of the most critical roles to play. The government has a responsibility of ensuring that transportation networks are managed so that traffic congestion is avoided (Gubbins 2003). On this the Transportation Demand Management ensures that all levels of government are involved in improving the efficiency if transportation across the country.
Ultimately it is the role of the government to ensure that there are sustainable transports within an urban setting where there are a many people and residence. Sustainable transport refers to the broad subject of transport that is sustainable regarding the environmental social and climatic impact and the ability to supply the source of energy in the global scope (Rye 2016). There are many components that can be used to evaluate the sustainability of the transport industry (Gubbins 2003). Some of the components that can be used to evaluate the transport are the vehicles that are usedon the road vessels used in water and air the sources of energy as well as the transportation infrastructure that are used to accommodate the transports. Some of the in infrastructure includes the railways airways roads canal and terminals (Oberstar 2008).

You now know that you will be engaged in a research project for the rest of this course. Chapter 9 of our textbook explains the best strategies for delivering good and bad news in the letter format.
For example if you are writing to employees you supervise to tell them that it is mandatory they work an upcoming Saturday you wouldnt start out the letter by saying something like I have to work this next Saturday and so do you. That might be the bottom line for everyone but you should start out the letter by telling your readers something positive like how much you appreciate their willingness to help you.
Take some time to review the strategies presented in the chapter and then write two letters to fit the scenarios provided in your syllabus. You can be creative in your content if you choose but remember to illustrate the letter formats presented in the chapter.
Unit IV Assignment Imagine you are a small business owner trying to grow your business and use the guidelines and examples from Chapter 9 to create two separate letters to your customers for the following purposes. For each letter you may choose what type of business you own and what your business is selling. 1. Case Study #3: Toro
Toro the lawn equipment manufacturer is accustomed to lawsuits due to the inherent hazards associated with using its machinery. During the late 1980s the company was facing major financial troubles and put Ken Melrose in place as CEO. One of his first successes was reducing the companys cost of lawsuits by implementing a new mediation policy and invoking an important leadership trait: empathy.
Prior to Melroses tenure Toro faced about 50 lawsuits every year involving serious injuries. He decided to switch to mediation to address product liability claims. This approach included sending a company representative to meet with people injured by Toro products as well as their families. The goal was to see what went wrong express the firms sympathy and attend to the familys needs. One result of the new mediation policy was a 95% rate of resolving the companys claims along with significant cost savings.

There are a variety of reasons as to why I would not have chosen the human resources to be the least important department in a company and the one that I would remove from the company in this situation. However the top two out of the five provided reasons in the case study resolution include(2) If HR did not keep accurate employee records and file reports that are required by law the resulting fines and penalties would have the potential to bankrupt the organization and (4) Compensation and benefits are very important to employees. If an organization misses payroll or does not pay benefit claims in a timely manner employees usually waste no time complaining to their managers. Senior managers dislike such problems. I felt that these two factors were the most crucial due to the fact that success within a company originates from its employees and management being content (Fallon et. al. 2013).
If HR would not keep accurate files and recordsof the employees and an incident were to occur then the company would go under to being held liable to have all records on file at all times. I have seen issues with this within a company who simply mis kept files and this led to tax evasion and the company owners going to prison for federal income tax fraud. Another example I have experienced in terms of the other factors chosen in the above paragraph is when I work for a company and do not get paid on time or receivebenefits in a timely manner I get upset and it inclines me to work less for this company due to the fact that they are not treating me well by paying less then i am owed or possibly not on time. Overall an HR department is crucial to the background functioning of the entire company in terms of employee and management satisfaction as well as all the legality and tax issues a company may face.
