For this assignment, imagine that you are the director of an early childhood education center, and you have decided to open a new location. Select a geographical area or district you would like to serve, and research the demographics of the surrounding community. Create a 10-15 slide digital presentation for prospective teachers who may consider working at your new center. Specifically, discuss the following different school models: • Project Approach • Head Start • High Scope • Montessori • Reggio Emilia • Waldorf In your discussion, explain the theoretical foundation of each model, and how each model supports the development of the whole child. Of the models listed, choose one model you would use within your early childhood education center. In your presentation, explain why you selected the model, how the model aligns with child-centered beliefs, and why it is a good choice for the demographics of the community you selected. Include a title slide, references slide, and speaker’s notes in your digital presentation. Support your findings with 3-5 scholarly references. Executive Strategies

Strategies implemented by leaders within their respective organizations can differ depending on several variables. Leaders can be very effective in one sector, but fail in another because the same leadership strategies used in one sector may not apply to another. For example, a leader who uses certain strategies in the military sector may not be successful using those same leadership strategies in a nonprofit charitable organization. Effective leaders use the most appropriate strategies not only for a specific situation, but for the overall sector in which they lead.

Instructions

Focus on the Chief Executive Officer, President, or other title used by the individual at the very top of the organization you have selected as the focus for this course. This individual is ultimately responsible for the organization and usually answers to a board of directors as well as outside stakeholders.

Create a PowerPoint presentation for the board of directors explaining the leadership strategies enacted by the CEO/President. Inform your audience how this leader’s strategies align with the leadership strategies most commonly used within the sector. Determine if the leader is using the most effective strategies, and if not, recommend improvements to assist the board.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Support your presentation with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.

Observation Papers are short papers that relate to the week’s topic/concepts. OPs are not a summary of the readings. They should go beyond a simply summary. They should reflect your observations of the course material. The observations could be based on your own personal experiences or those of your friends, or it could be based on something you heard about in the news or something you read about in another class, or in the popular press. Your observations could be used to illustrate points in the weekly readings, or they could critique or extend the arguments given in the readings. Alternatively, you could relate to the week’s topic or assigned readings in other ways. I am relatively open regarding the manner in which an OP connects to the topic, as long as you take course material and tie it to your observations outside our classroom. 

 

There is no need for the OP to address all aspects of all the readings–focus on whatever interests you. The goal of the paper is to motivate you to think about the week’s topic and thus deepen your understanding of it, and depth is more important than breadth. In other words, pick one small aspect of the readings for the week and explore it outside of the classroom. Do not try to pick an entire chapter, as this is too broad to cover effectively in two pages.

 

OPs are limited to two standard pages (not including references). If you refer to your personal experiences, please use pseudonyms when discussing them, irrespective of whether what you say is positive or negative
