“Opportunities”

For this week’s discussion, we will expand on the non-alcoholic beverage business you began developing in the Week 1 discussion. As part of your business plan, you will be required to conduct a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) in Assignment 2.

For this week’s discussion, please respond to the following:

1. Discuss three OPPORTUNITIES you can identify for your NAB business. Briefly describe each and clarify how your business can grow by pursuing each opportunity. 

Notes: 

• Check out Chapter 9: Strategic Position and Risk Assessment to learn more. 
• You will use this week’s information in Assignment 1, question 7. 

Opportunities:

• Number each opportunity and describe each in a separate paragraph clarifying how your business can grow by pursuing that opportunity.
• To identify opportunities, think of the external environment of the company.
• Opportunities are external to the company, not under your control, but you can take advantage of them to grow your business. 

Useful opportunities can come from such things as:

• Changes in technology and markets on both a broad and narrow scale.
• Trends in the industry
• Changes in government policy related to your field.
• Changes in social patterns, demographics, lifestyle changes, and so on.
• Local events.

Need for Risk Management

• There are four (4) critical success factors that are important for effective risk management: supportive organization; competent people; appropriate methods, tools and techniques; and simple, scalable processes. 
• Determine three (3) obstacles for an organization to manage risk effectively. Suggest strategies from the perspective of a project manager to avoid the obstacles.

 Pick one of the following terms for your research: analyzability, core technology, interdependence, joint optimization, lean manufacturing, noncore technology, service technology, small-batch production, smart factories, or technical complexity.

Your submission must include the following information in the following format: DEFINITION: a brief definition of the key term followed by the APA reference for the term; this does not count in the word requirement. 

SUMMARY: Summarize the article in your own words- this should be in the 150-200 word range. Be sure to note the article’s author, note their credentials and why we should put any weight behind his/her opinions, research or findings regarding the key term. 

DISCUSSION: Using 300-350 words, write a brief discussion, in your own words of how the article relates to the selected chapter Key Term. A discussion is not rehashing what was already stated in the article, but the opportunity for you to add value by sharing your experiences, thoughts and opinions. This is the most important part of the assignment. 

REFERENCES: All references must be listed at the bottom of the submission–in APA format. 

Be sure to use the headers in your submission to ensure that all aspects of the assignment are completed as required. Any form of plagiarism, including cutting and pasting, will result in zero points for the entire assignment.

 For this assignment you are to introduce the benefits and problems associated with Information Privacy and Surveillance in general and then you will introduce a particular problem related to privacy and surveillance that you find interesting and/or important and examine it in more detail. At the discussion and conclusion, you will propose some remedy that is either original or a variation of has been proposed by others. 

 The paper must consist of the following parts: 

• Title page: Title: Information Privacy and Surveillance, Course number, Paper 1, Name, Date Due: October 14, 2019 

• Introduction (Introduce the general issues on the subject of privacy and surveillance.) 

• Definition: Define the specific issue that you will be addressing 

• Background and Discussion (of the specific issue, recommendation)

 • Conclusion (Recommendation, how it will improve things.) 

• References (Between 6-8, maximum 3 online references.)

• Must be free of grammatical and spelling errors. • The voice throughout the paper must be consistent.

• Length: Overall the paper must between 1,200 to 1,400 words. Use 1.5 spacing instead of double spacing. 

• Must be submitted both electronically and in hardcopy. The electronic submission time is the official one. Instructions for possibly submit to Turnitin will be provided later. 

 • On turnitin.com, you must have a similarity index of 25% or less for the paper to be graded. If similarity index greater, the grade will be 0. 

• You MUST explicitly have the parts (sections) specified, e.g. Introduction, Definition, etc, as headings. If not, the grade will 0. 

According to your worldview, what value does a human person have? How does your position affect your stance on controversial bioethical issues, such as abortion, designer babies, and stem cell research? 

Provide (2) 150 words response with a minimum of 2 APA references at the discussions below. Response provided should further discuss the subject or provide more insight.

DISCUSSION 1: 

Business continuity planning (BCP) is the process involved in creating a system of prevention and recovery from potential threats to a company. BCP involves defining all risks that can affect the company’s operations, making it an important part of the organization’s risk management strategy. Risks may include natural disasters—fire, flood, or weather-related events—and cyber-attacks. Once the risks are identified, the plan should also include how those risks will affect operations. Additionally, there should be safeguards and procedures in place to prevent further damage/future risks. Education and testing procedures should be implemented regularly to ensure that everyone understands their roles and that the plans are up to date with current threats.

DISCUSSION 2: 

 A Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is a subcomponent of the BCP.  As the DRP specifically focuses on recovering from an actual disaster, is an important need of the BCP, and should not seek blanketed approaches to methodologies. As the BCP aides in dictating the acceptable outage time, and monetary loss by the organization, the DRP aligns itself with these key requirements and thus dictates items such as secondary sites, equipment requirements, necessary personnel, and data backup/recovery.

Students are required to maintain weekly reflective narratives throughout the course to combine into one course-long reflective journal that integrates leadership and inquiry into current practice as it applies to the Professional Capstone and Practicum course.

In your journal, you will reflect on the personal knowledge and skills gained throughout this course. The journal should address a variable combination of the following, depending on your specific practice immersion clinical experiences:

1. Introduction

3. Intraprofessional collaboration

4. Health care delivery and clinical systems

5. Ethical considerations in health care

6. Population health concerns

7. The role of technology in improving health care outcomes

8. Health policy

9. Leadership and economic models
