This assignment is designed to identify how decisions impact a business. Corporations have an obligation to be ethical at all times. For this assignment; the student will identify potential ethical implications surrounding the decision, and how this may impact the decision-making process. From there, corporate social responsibility will be explained and how it can impact the outcome of decision-making for an organization. 

Assignment Steps 

Identify a business in your local community. This can be your current place of employment or a business with which you are familiar. 

Develop a 1,050-word examination of the ethics and social responsibility practices within the organization. 

Include the following in your examination: 

  • Select a business decision within the organization.
  • Identify the potential ethical implications associated with this decision.
  • Determine the effect this may have on the decision making process.
  • Identify how the organization applies corporate social responsibility to the business.
  • Evaluate the influence that corporate social responsibility has on the organization.
  • Discuss the application of critical thinking to corporate social responsibility.

Businesses face a choice between two important methods of calculating taxable income for federal income taxes: the cash method and the accrual method.

The course Term Paper will be written in APA (6th edition) Format. This format will consist of the following:

The Reference Page.

The paper must have a MINIMUM of 5 pages of content. NOT to exceed 8 pages of content. The 5-8 pages DO NOT include the Title Page, Abstract Page and Reference Page. The paper will be written in 12 point Font with one inch (1) margins, doubled spaced, Times Roman Script with the pages numbered. The last page of the paper MUST be at LEAST three quarters (3/4) filled with content. (One or two sentences at the top of the page WILL NOT meet this requirement.) No design or graphics on the Title Page. No Pictures, Graphs, Charts or Power Points will be included in the body of the paper. The paper will have NO MORE than three (3) quoted or paraphrased passages/sections in the content/body portion of the paper. All specific information mentioned in the paper MUST be referenced using in-text citations (APA 6th edition format). There is NO requirement to include Level 1,2,3 Headings or Keywords to the paper.

The paper MUST have 5 scholarly research reference sources. (Wikipedia and ask.com are NOT scholarly research sources. The references MUST be titled and cited using APA (6th edition)

Research Paper Rubric:

You will fully discuss and evaluate the question assigned to you, and you will explain the main points, key concepts, and included assumptions/conclusions based on cited references. 100 points.

Paper is a minimum of 5 pages, not to exceed 8 pages of content. The page DOES NOT include the Title Page, Abstract, or Reference Page. 20 points (20 point deduction for each page under minimum page length requirement or required pages not included)

Justify or support thoughts and responses by using appropriate cited references. A preferred source for obtaining your references is the SPC Online Library resource databases that include professional journals, trade magazines, newspaper articles, textbooks, and other academic references, interviews. The paper is required to include at least five APA cited references. 20 points

Use APA 6th edition format consistently and accurately. Use and apply proper in-text citations when paraphrasing or quoting a source and proper listing of references. The paper must meet spelling and proper English grammar requirements and meet required length. The paper MUST be structurally correct. No Run-On, Incomplete Sentences. 20 points.

Cite and reference at least five topic related references using APA (6th edition) format for the citations. 20 Points 

The paper must be submitted on time and in the correct assignment drop box as a single complete, properly formatted submission. 20 points

Suppose a client has come to you with a question about corporate taxation. 

Discuss your plan of action and communication with the client. Remember, the client does not have any technical background, and you need to communicate in terms he or she will understand.
