This final project will require you to gather research material, analyze it, evaluate it, and bring it together to act as support for your writing. All options require strong critical engagement with both the focal primary text(s) and with the required peer reviewed sources.  

General Requirements for the Project:

All submissions must:

• use 3 peer reviewed sources in addition  to whatever primary texts they discuss (and these sources must be used, actually cited, in the essay, not just listed in the works cited at the end)
• be 1000-1500 words long 
• must be original to this class and assignment (no submissions from other courses and or previous forums are allowed) 
• be in MLA format and use MLA style citations (see The APUS Library MLA Guide for MLA formatting models; most of you sources will probably need to use the "Journal Articles" model) 

BE CAREFUL that you do not create a cut and paste essay of information from your various sources; your ideas are to be the focus of the essay, and the research should only supplement and support your ideas. Also, take great care not to plagiarize; if in doubt, cite the source.  MLA formatted essay.

Gender Issues in Pygmalion and The Importance of Being Earnest: Describe Eliza in Shaw's play, and discuss how Eliza is treated by others within the play. Does she appear to be marginalized? What about the portrayal of the female characters in Wilde's play? Do these plays reflect issues that women may have faced during this time period? Share one of the oral stories that has been passed down in your own family and elaborate on how the story has changed or remained consistent throughout the years. Seeking college level content, well written and  free from requiring re- editing. Must be ready to post? Again each question requires brief but relevant 2-3 paragraph per question minimum?

1.topic and rationale. what are you planning to research about ? why?

2. problem. what is the problem you have identified within the topic upon which you will focus? why?

3. critical position. whats your particular context for examining   the problem at hand?

4. hypothesis. what are you proposing ?

5.design project. what is the design studio project you plan to pursue in support of your research? why? ( talk a little bit about this point)

6. theoretical framework. what variables  will you focus on (propose 3). what is the rationale for selecting these ? write a paragraph or so about each variables.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the similarities of these 4 things except for the fact that they are part of English Lit.

Explore  your community and take notice of the art you encounter. What does it  evoke in you? 

What did the artist want you to experience when you look  at it?

Take  pictures of the art and create an aesthetically interesting collection  of several (5) works from your home, work, community, and/or visit  elsewhere and design a PowerPoint with an “outside the box”  interpretation/expression of each.

The  focus of this assignment is on creativity, artistic expression,  critical perspective, and your analytical ability to relate everyday  life to the purpose of this course. Thus, write a short, one paragraph,  analysis on five (5) different art pieces, in total, that tells/reveals  an “unsuspected” story and/or “moral” message by the artists or Art  pieces themselves.

 Again, you can either create your artistic pieces or take photos, where allowed, of other people’s art.
