You are a manager at a call center. The company frowns upon phone calls and texting during work hours. You have looked the other way a few times, but it has started to get out of hand. You need to write a memo reminding everyone that private phone and text message use on company time is viewed as a violation of the company’s code of ethics. 

Write a 1-page memo in which you address the situation, emphasizing the violation of the company’s code of conduct. In your document, you should:

  1. Ensure the memo is clear and brief.
  2. Choose language to match the purpose and tone for the situation and audience.
  3. Format the memo accurately and according to the details in the textbook.
  4. Create an effective opening that establishes goodwill without obscuring the message.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

 

Law- Gender, Race and Crime

1.  Select a different article from a current academic journal (last ten years) that deals with gender issues related to criminal justice (this may be interdisciplinary).  An academic journal is not a magazine, a book, newspaper, etc.  Examples of acceptable academic journals include:  Criminology, Social Forces, Criminal Justice Education, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Crime and Delinquency, Journal of Black Psychology, etc.  Topics of selected articles should focus on a theoretical explanation of criminal behavior.

Content 80% • Appropriate article selection (scholarly and/or empirical); recent (last ten years). • Brief overview of the article is provided; the thesis of the article is clearly stated. • A description of the research problem is provided. • Research methods used to study the problem are discussed and critiqued in detail. • The authors’ conclusions and recommendations are provided. • Contributions to the literature are discussed in detail along with a brief discussion of conclusions/recommendations. • The critique addresses the following questions: What methods did the author use to investigate the topic?  Were the appropriate methods used?  Did the author's approach to supporting the thesis make sense?  Did the author employ the methods correctly?  Did you discover any errors in the way the research was conducted?

Short Paper On Being Bilingual

Learning two or more languages can be beneficial to cognition in several ways. After reading the textbook and the article The Cognitive Benefits of Being Bilingual, sum up some of the major findings of research on being bilingual. For example, what advantages or disadvantages do bilinguals have? Given what you have learned about being bilingual this week, how do you think second language acquisition should be approached? How do you think your approach could increase cognitive function in different professional settings? Be sure to defend your answer with scholarly research.
