We are about to work through Bahadori’s (2014) textbook related to waste management. As such, we are going to be discussing engineering principles related to industrial, solid, and hazardous wastes. Consequently, we must first consider what officially classifies wastes into one or more of these categories.

Discuss which method (inductive or deductive) it most closely resembles and explain why the author chose to deliver the bad news. Write a Block Business Letter from the perspective of company management.  It must provide bad news to the recipient and follow the guidelines outlined in Chapter 7: Delivering Bad-News Messages in BCOM7 (pages 110-128).

The message should take the block business letter form from the posted example; however, you will submit your assignment to the online course shell.

The block business letter must adhere to the following requirements:

1. Content: 
   1. Address the communication issue from the scenario.
   2. Provide bad news from the company to the recipient.
   3. Concentrate on the facts of the situation and use either the inductive or deductive approach.
   4. Assume your recipient has previously requested a review of the situation via email, letter, or personal meeting with management.
2. Format: 
   1. Include the proper introductory elements (sender’s address, date, recipient’s address). You may create any details necessary in the introductory elements to complete the assignment.
   2. Provide an appropriate and professional greeting / salutation.
   3. Single space paragraphs and double space between paragraphs.
   4. Limit the letter to one page in length.

   1. Focus on clarity, writing mechanics, and professional language/style requirements.
   2. Run spell/grammar check before submitting.

Write a 700 word essay that includes discussion of the following:

Week 2 Empathetic Listening Scenario

Think back over conversations you have had with friends, family members, co-workers, or classmates.

Select a conversation in which the other person wanted to talk about something that was troubling him or her. As you replay this conversation in your mind, think about how well you did in terms of empathic listening.

Develop a 1,050-word analysis including:

• Explain whether you found      yourself being critical when the person really just needed someone to      listen.
• Identify whether you let the      person know, by your words or actions, you cared about his or her dilemma,      even if you were not able to help in any other way.
