Identify two GCU Library scholarly databases that will help you find the best research articles to support your EBP proposal.

Identify two GCU Library scholarly databases that will help you find the best research articles to support your EBP proposal. Discuss why these two databases are better than Google Scholar or a general Internet search.

The GCU library databases are a lot of different things to use to make your writing easier. The GCU database is better than google search because it is focused on our topics and what we need to learn and not just everything on the internet. One of the main things that will help when writing your papers and to help support your EBP proposal is ask the librarian. This can help you when you get stuck and can’t figure out the next step. Also if you can’t figure out how to navigate the library the ask the librarian database is something that will help support your EBP. The other database that will help support your EBP proposal is CINAHL. This database has access to thousands of articles from other healthcare professionals and other people in the field that understand what nurses go through. Using this will help to support your EBP because you can read other people’s thoughts that have been in the same place other nurses have. These two things are the most helpful for me but the GCU library has many databases that are better than google because the results we get from GCU are from people that understand what nurses go through.

Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment.

Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health patterns for each of the following:

  1. Values/Health Perception
  2. Nutrition
  3. Sleep/Rest
  4. Elimination
  5. Activity/Exercise
  6. Cognitive
  7. Sensory-Perception
  8. Self-Perception
  9. Role Relationship
  10. Sexuality
  11. Coping

Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the family to conduct an interview. Utilize the interview questions complied in your interview questionnaire to conduct a family-focused functional assessment. Document the responses as you conduct the interview.

Upon completion of the interview, write a 1000- 1250 word paper. Analyze your assessment findings. Submit your questionnaire as an appendix with your assignment.

Include the following in your paper:

  1. Describe the family structure. Include individuals and any relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity, social class, spirituality, and environment.
  2. Summarize the overall health behaviors of the family. Describe the current health of the family.
  3. Based on your findings, describe at least two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the findings. Discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers to health were identified.
  4. Describe how family systems theory can be applied to solicit changes in family members that, in turn, initiate positive changes to the overall family functions over time.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria.

Benchmark – Human Experience Across The Health-Illness Continuum

The benchmark assesses the following competency:

Benchmark: 5.1. Understand the human experience across the     health-illness continuum.

Research the health-illness continuum and its relevance to patient   care. In a 750-1,000 word paper, discuss the relevance of the   continuum to patient care and present a perspective of your current   state of health in relation to the wellness spectrum. Include the following:

  1. Examine the health-illness continuum and discuss why this     perspective is important to consider in relation to health and the     human experience when caring for patients.
  2. Reflect on your     overall state of health. Discuss what behaviors support or detract     from your health and well-being. Explain where you currently fall on     the health-illness continuum.
  3. Discuss the options and     resources available to you to help you move toward wellness on the     health-illness spectrum. Describe how these would assist in moving     you toward wellness (managing a chronic disease, recovering from an     illness, self-actualization, etc.).

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA   Style Guide. An abstract or thesis is required.

The Systems Development Life Cycle And The Nurse Informaticist

Discussion: The Systems Development Life Cycle and the Nurse Informaticist

The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is a model for planning and implementing change within an organization. It is important for many individuals to be represented in the process, especially the end users of the system or the employees who must live with the change. As informatics become more and more widespread throughout the health care field, collaboration between information technology (IT) professionals and health care practitioners is becoming increasingly important. The nurse informaticist is able to combine the perspective of the information technology side with the clinical nursing perspective.

While the titles and specific responsibilities of nurse informaticists vary across organizations and practice settings, the fundamental purpose of the role remains the same. Nurse informaticists synthesize their knowledge of how technology can improve health care with an understanding of clinical practice and workflow. This is why nurse informaticists can be instrumental in facilitating the SDLC for informatics in health care. For this Discussion, you examine the relationship between the nurse informaticist and the use of the SDLC.

To prepare:

  • Review the information in this week’s Learning Resources on the SDLC and the role of the nurse informaticist. Reflect on Chapter 1 of the Dennis, Wixom, and Roth course text and consider how the information about the systems analyst role translates into nursing and health care.

  • Consider a recent change in your organization related to the implementation of a new technology or system. How was this change handled? What was the general SDLC process? Who was involved, and what were the outcomes?

  • Identify whether your organization (or one with which you are familiar) has a formal title or position for the nurse informaticist. This position may be called by a different name, such as nurse informatics specialist or informatics analyst, so be sure to review the position description.

  • If your organization has a position for the nurse informaticist, what are the responsibilities of that position? If your organization does not have such a position, conduct research in the Walden Library and at credible online sources on the role of the nurse informaticist.

  • Reflect on the role of the nurse informaticist in the overall health care field. How is this position connected to the SDLC? Assess the benefits of having this specialized position within health care organizations and involving the nurse informaticist in the SDLC.

Post by tomorrow 8/30/16 550 words in APA format with a minimum of 3 references from the list provided under Required Readings. Apply the level 1 headings as numbered below:

    1) A description of how the systems development life cycle is utilized in your organization (Hospital), or in one with which you are familiar, and assess its effectiveness.

    2)  Assess the role of the nurse informaticist in your organization. If the nurse informaticist is not a current position within your organization, provide a description of the generally accepted role of the nurse informaticist based on this week’s Learning Resources and your own research.

    3)  Explain why it is important for the nurse informaticist to be involved in the SDLC process and the overall organizational benefits of having such involvement.

How did the communism influence Milos Forman’s work in Hollywood?

Description

How did the communism influence Milos Forman’s work in Hollywood?

Feedback on Research Paper (Research Paper attached) written by you:

After a problematic start this semester and some weak drafts you have got together quite a coherent and presentable paper and offer some interesting analyses of the films you cite. You will need to want and find some variation in how you approach and analyse your topic as working through more films in just the same way you have done so far might prove to be a bit dull; so different perspectives, arguments, discussion, different views (referenced in a more sophisticated way than you have done up to now) etc would be good for you and the reader, especially as regards the American/Hollywood period where the influences and possible critiques of communism are likely to be more metaphorical or indirect, presumably. In particular you keep mentioning ‘style’ but show no signs as yet of finding a way to approach or analyse this topic. What is it about the filmmaker’s style that interests you or you think is important or relevant to your topic? Original research as you suggest at the end would be excellent but any interview material etc would have to be done with care.

I still do not understand your mentioning that The Firemens’ Ball begins with some account by Forman himself of how the film was received when first released. So, this cannot have been in the original film….

Final Exam

Description

instructions
Directions: Answer (your choice) any TEN of the questions below.

Develop each answer to the fullest extent possible, discussing the nuances of each topic and present your arguments logically. Answers should be robust and developed in-depth, spell-checked and grammatically correct. Type your responses in a word document (number your responses) and submit your test to the appropriate assignment folder in the LEO Classroom by the deadline as posted in the course syllabus. You may want to follow up by sending it directly to your instructor as an email attachment to be assured that your test is received on time.

Week 1 & 2 – Early Modern East Asia & China, Japan, and 19th Century Imperialism

1. The Tokugawa Shogunate and the Qing Dynasty have commonly been categorized as “isolationist” or “insular.” Why do you think they are perceived in this way?

2. There is a common saying – the flag follows the dollar sign. How does this relate to our topic of imperialism? State whether you agree, disagree. Explain your answer.

3. Asians are painted as passive or unwilling victims of European expansion and imperialism. Do you believe this interpretation is valid or not, explain your answer?

Week 3 – Reform and Conflict in Japan and Korea

4. One theory poses that Japan never truly modernized but instead clings to obsolete forms of political expression and processes that hinder it to the present day. Is this true?

5. Korea is the only major Asia country that was not colonized or subjected to western imperialism and instead, it dealt almost solely with Japanese imperialism. How did their experiences differ from the rest of Asia and why?

Week 4 – Revolution and War in China

6. What factors do you think led to the development of Chinese nationalism? Do you see any parallels to our world today? Explain your answer.

7. Two persistent questions regarding the Chinese revolution that remain are: (1.) Did Japan fatally weaken the Kuomintang or Nationalist by invading and (2.) Did the Communists ultimately win the revolution or did the Nationalist simply lose it? Provide an answer to both these questions.

Week 5 – Colonization and Division of Korea

8. Evaluate the scope of Japanese colonialism in Korea. Highlight three positive and three negative impacts of Japanese colonialism. Do you think that the positives outweighed the negatives, the negatives outweighed the positives or that the final tally was more neutral, an equal dose of good and bad?

9. Had the UN not intervened, do you think that a Korea unified under a northern Communist government would have been either better or worse than a divided Korea?

Week 6 – The People’s Republic of China

10. The Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution are significant events in world history – in sheer loss of life, they rank as two of the worst man-made cataclysms in world history. Were they the result of the leadership seeking a more pure form of communism or the result of cynical power plays inside the government or was it something else and if so, what?

11. In light of the sudden breakup of the Soviet Union and the problems it’s had since, why do you believe the Chinese Communist Party was able to make the transition to a more market-based economy and remain in power. Or do you believe that the “ending” is still in doubt?

Week 7 – War and Postwar Recovery in Japan

12. Japan’s economic rise from the ashes of World War II has been deemed an economic miracle. What do you believe were the main reasons for this miracle? Do you believe it was more the result of deliberate planning or blind luck and serendipity?

13. Japan was recently replaced as the second-largest economy in the world by China. Why do you think this is and what are the implications of this change?

Final book report

Description

INSTRUCTIONS

For the final paper, you will be examining a social issue of your choosing and social networks. Importantly, you will be using the book “Connected” (Author: Kim Hartman) and 2 peer-reviewed research articles. There is a great deal of network analysis in the computer and information sciences, but for this paper you will need to focus on applications of network approaches to social phenomena.

Journals you may find network analysis of social issues

American Journal of Sociology

American Sociological Review

Social Science Quarterly

Social Psychology

Sociological Theory

Sociological Perspectives

Sociological Forum

American Political Science Review

British Journal of Sociology

FINAL PAPER:

The final paper will review the literature and include a discussion/conclusion section where you will provide a summary or your own thoughts on the research articles you have reviewed. Possible things you may want to write about: what can social networks tell us about the topic? In what ways can social network analysis provide insights into the topic that a “non-social network approach” can’t?

*For some handy and helpful tips on writing, see the “McEvoy’s Full Proof Guide to Writing Academic Papers” that is posted in the Final Paper Module. If you adopt these practices, you are almost guaranteed to get better grades and impress potential employers.

The paper should be written in an essay-style format; structured with an introduction, body, and discussion/conclusion. A thesis statement in the first paragraph is required.

Strategic Planning in the Public Sector

Description

This week’s readings and following question is about “strategic planning under conditions of ubiquitous uncertainty and perpetual change. Here is the question:

If the broader exogenous (external) political and policy environment is fraught with “ubiquitous uncertainty” and perpetual change, what are the various tools provided by strategic planning approaches that organizations can use to promote relative internal security and stability?
