Biological and psychological differences among different stages of adulthood create a need for a variety of instructional approaches to support successful learning. As a team you will examine how these differences may present themselves in the classroom.

Research the biological and psychological development of adults at different stages of adulthood for the purpose of determining the impact of this development on learning.

Create a fictitious adult learner profile for each member of your learning team; represent as many different stages of adulthood as possible. Each profile should be drafted in an outline format.

Include the following information for each learner profile:

• Name
• Age
• Cultural background
• Educational experience
• Goals and motivation for learning
• 2 or 3 biological characteristics and 2 or 3 psychological characteristics that may impact their approach to learning
• 3 to 5 classroom accommodations or instructional approaches necessary to meet the learner’s needs

Write a 150- to 175-word summary for the fictitious learner profile you created for your Learning Team that describes the following:

• Brief recap of learner’s demographics
• Alignment of learner’s goals and motivation to stage of adulthood
• How biological and psychological characteristics may impact learning
• Justification for accommodations and instructional approaches selected and how they support learning

1. Every industry publishes many trade publications, periodicals, and academic journals. Successful professionals regularly review the literature in their industries to explore the intellectual developments and range of resources available within their disciplines.

   Develop a journal to collect print and/or electronic resources that are specific to the discipline of adult education and training. You will add to this journal several times throughout this course and may choose to keep it updated going forward in future courses.

   Locate a minimum of two resources that are specific to the field of adult education and training.

   Include the following information for each resource:

   • Name
   • Associated costs or membership, if any
   • Subject focus
   • Intended audience
   • Tone: highly technical, research-based, or application-based
   • A 5- to 7-sentence description of how the resource serves the discipline
   • Format all citations and references according to APA guidelines.

You have added some new staff, including an outside partner to your project team, to help you reach your new deadline. They have very little understanding of your project and you don’t have a lot of time to educate them on the project’s specifics. Describe how you plan to incorporate them as members of your project as well as how to get them up to speed on your project. 

As you begin to consider your career goals, it is important to clarify your specific needs and interests. In most instances, you cannot get the job you want if you aren’t clear about what you are searching for as well as the types of jobs for which you qualify. • Does the private sector have a career for you?
  • Action: Research jobs using Web site A or additional Internet sources, and find options that do not involve the most familiar employment avenues.
  • Awareness: Most people are familiar with some careers and settings like police officers, courts, and corrections, but what options exist outside of the government?
• How does the private sector overlap with government jobs?
  • Action: Find and list 3 specific jobs that have private and government equivalents, and list 3 skills for each that are the same in both sectors. A compare-and-contrast element can be added to evaluate the jobs’ requirements and duties.
  • Awareness: Many government jobs have private-sector equivalents with the same titles, benefits, or duties.
• What are the advantages to working in the private sector?
  • Action: Answer the following questions in short answer or essay format:
    • How can the skills and training benefit your marketability for a future career?
    • Could this job serve as a job that could lead you to a government job later in your career?
  • Awareness: Private-sector jobs are abundant and often have less restrictions for employment compared to their government counterparts. They also can be less dependent on unpredictable government changes. They can also serve as a great way to gain needed experience and training for a future job or career.

In McRaney, Chapter 2, the author states, “dealing with lost people will cause us to get our hands dirty and sweaty just like tending to yard work. Part of evangelism is to clear up misconceptions and misperceptions people have about the gospel. Dealing with people and evangelism is often messy.”  How does all of this connect with the essential harvest principles discussed by McRaney, also in the introductory video, and in Chapter 11 of the Everyday Series: Evangelism book?

As you respond, consider your own conversion experience. Explain how it may have demonstrated “the dirty work of evangelism”? From the article written by Dr. Earley, as well as Chapters 19-20 of the Everyday Series: Evangelism book, address if spiritual warfare was part of the dirty work – what part did prayer play in the process then and now, etc.? 

Finally, from McRaney Chapter 1, what role does the Holy Spirit play in evangelism and in reference to the harvest?  Ultimately, referring to McRaney, Chapter 2, make sure that you address how your emerging biblical theology of evangelism and practical experience of faith can assist people in addressing their misconceptions/misperceptions regarding the gospel. (450 words minimum)

Discuss how you would combine the two concepts to create visualizations for an ABM-Based Gaming simulation for policy-making. First, describe what specific policy you’re trying to create. Let’s stick with the SmartCity scenario. Describe a specific policy (that you haven’t used before), and how you plan to use ABM-Based Gaming to build a model for simulating the effects of the policy. Then, describe what type of visualization technique you’ll use to make the model more accessible. Use figure 15.9 and describe what data a new column for your policy would contain.
 
To complete this assignment, you must do the following:
A) Create a new thread. As indicated above, discuss how you would combine the two concepts to create visualizations for an ABM-Based Gaming simulation for policy-making. First, describe what specific policy you’re trying to create. Let’s stick with the SmartCity scenario. B) Select AT LEAST 3 other students’ threads and post substantive comments on those threads, evaluating the pros and cons of that student’s recommendations. Your comments should extend the conversation started with the thread (150-200 words each response).
 A quality post is more than stating, “I agree with you.” Maybe you should state why you agree with your classmate’s post. Additionally, post some examples or find a related topic.
