For each site, make the following observations:

  • How relevant or useful are the websites listed on the first two pages of search results?

You have come up with a new program for getting the employees in your company and possibly other companies, to improve their documentation when completing notes after providing healthcare services to individuals. Create a power point presentation that is at least 5 to 7 slides. Incorporating the information below and pictures are a requirement. You can also include a relevant video in one of the slides. Speaker notes are required for each slide but No references are necessary. Introductory slide and concluding slide are a requirement. Therefore, the slide show presentation should be a minimum of 7 slides and a maximum of 10 slides total including the introductory and concluding slides. Presentation must be at least 7 minutes long.

 

DOCUMENTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS

 

Many professionals who seek careers in the healthcare arena do so because they innately want to help others. Very few, if any, think to themselves, “I’m going to write the best and longest care plan and notes!” And yet, that is exactly what most healthcare professionals spend the majority of their time doing. Documentation helps to establish stable routines and fosters regular communication among staff in the same and different disciplines. One of the first and most important principles taught is this: “If you didn’t document it, you didn’t do it.” This rule is meant to protect both patients and providers, but in very different ways.

In patient care organizations, proper and accurate clinical documentation has always been important, but in today’s shifting healthcare landscape, it has become even more of a strategic imperative than perhaps ever before. Documentation is critical for patient care, not only because it validates the care that was provided, but also because it shares key data with subsequent caregivers and optimizes claims processing. As such, Documentation Improvement Programs (DIP) are important to any facility that recognizes the necessity of complete and accurate patient documentation.

 

For patients, documentation ensures the delivery of safe, consistent, quality healthcare. Documentation is often the sole point of communication between staff that are changing shifts. This means that if no verbal conversation has taken place, the documented notes must be read by the oncoming staff to understand where in the care cycle the patient stands. 

 

At the core of the problem is that healthcare providers are extremely busy and because of that, they’re not connecting the dots on documentation. The best way to deal with their demanding schedules is to engage them in a positive way, train them, and give them time to see the relevance in improving their documenting. Take them through training to help them understand what they’re doing today and where there are areas for opportunity to do a better job documenting.

    You are the HR manager for a small retail company that sells a high volume of products over the Internet.  Your company is growing rapidly due to increased Internet sales. Your company prides itself on providing high-quality products and services. The Customer Service department is integral to the success of the company. Over the past few months, the Customer Service department has been unable to fill its openings for Customer Service Representative positions. You suspect there could be a number of reasons for this, but you know you first need to look at the job, the work flow, the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience the company is seeking to ensure the job reflects the current workload and expectations.

    Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

    1. Examine at least three (3) approaches that you can take as the HR manager to conduct a job analysis of the Customer Service Representative position. Suggest the major pros and cons of each selected approach. Recommend the approach that would be most effective in conducting the job analysis for this organization. Justify your recommendation. 
    2. Select two (2) out of the four (4) approaches to job design that are the most important for you to consider. Suggest two (2) challenges that you may encounter when designing a job using each of the selected approaches. Support your response with specific examples to illustrate the potential advantages and disadvantages of using each approach.
    3. Using the four (4) approaches to job design, create two (2) strategies that the organization can implement to attract and select qualified applicants for the Customer Service Representative position. Justify the main reasons that the selected strategies would be effective.
    4. Propose three (3) ways that you can use the information obtained from a job analysis to measure the performance of Customer Service Representatives. Provide a rationale for your response.
    5. Use at least four (4) quality academic (peer-reviewed) resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

      The latest quality report showed that the average (median) time from emergency department (ED) arrival to transfer to the inpatient unit at your facility was above the national average of 275 minutes (4.5 hours, based on current Hospital Compare data). Your quality improvement team will review some emergency department data to help determine where there may be issues affecting wait times (Download the ED data spreadsheet here).

      The length of time patients wait to be admitted to the unit or discharged from the Emergency Department (ED) exceeds the quality goal set by your hospital of 275 minutes (which is the same as the national average benchmark). 

      Write a 3 page paper (in APA format) that:

      1. Calculate the wait times for each patient and determine if they are consistently above or below the 275 minute average.
