Write the first draft of your Personal Leadership Portrait (u09a1) based on the following scenario

The health care environment is complex, requiring leadership that is  comprehensive and collaborative in the field. It is essential for  leaders to be well-versed in a range of areas (practice, research,  education) as a means of effective engagement with inter-professional  communities. Effective leaders have heightened awareness of self and  individual leadership styles, leading to professional growth, career  advancement, and the ability to develop leaders for the future across  the fields of practice (nursing, health administration, public health).

Your final assignment in your first course will bring together all  the aspects of leadership that you have examined and discussed over the  last nine weeks, as you analyze your own leadership qualities to create a  portrait of the effective health care professional and leader you  aspire to be.

Remember, in graduate work, the use of directly quoted material  should be limited as it is your understanding, interpretation, and  application of the literature combined with your experience that is  important.

Note: Because this assignment requires you to  develop a self-assessment, you may write using first-person voice.  However, it is important for your development as a practitioner-scholar  to recognize that writing in the first person is not usually acceptable  in academic papers, which are written in the third person. Consequently,  you should always carefully consider departing from this norm. If you  have any questions about academic writing style, please contact your  courseroom instructor, or post a question in the Ask Your Teaching  Assistant area of the NHS Learner Success Lab.

How do the amounts of vitamins and minerals in the product compare with the DRIs, AI, and UL?

Vitamin and minerals comprise the micronutrients we eat. You started your two-week journey to learn about the micronutrients this week.  Our forum topic will expand your knowledge on micronutrients as well as discuss many of the apps that are available to analyze your diet for micronutrients. There are three topics.

Initial Post:  Respond to the topic below that corresponds to the starting letter of your last name.  If your last name starts with, then your topic is…

A – H:       Topic 1
I – P:         Topic 2
Q – Z:       Topic 3

Topic 1:  According to the CDC, more than half of all Americans consumed a supplement in 2012.  Supplements are common in our culture, and many people think they need to consume a supplement to be healthy.  Are supplements safe?  In this forum, we will investigate vitamin and mineral supplements.

Using your favorite search engine, find a vitamin and mineral supplement and evaluate it. In your initial forum post, discuss the following:

  • What is the cost of these supplements?
  • How do the amounts of vitamins and minerals in the product compare with the DRIs, AI, and UL?
  • Are the levels of nutrients safe?
  • What compounds are included that are not essential nutrients?
  • What disclaimers or warnings are made about the product? Does the manufacturer provide scientific evidence to back up their claim?
  • How likely is the supplement to improve a person’s health?

Topic 2: Joe is a chronic alcohol drinker for many years and pays no attention to his diet.  Excess alcohol intake can cause deficiencies in certain B-vitamins.  Why?  Explain why this happens.

Topic 3:  There are many apps and computer programs available to analyze your die.  Examples are MyFitnessPal, eaTracker.ca, SelfNutrition, and Cronometer, but you are welcome to find a different one and report on it.  Pick one and do not repeat one another student has selected.  What are the pros and cons of that app?  Does it provide an analysis of all the macro and micronutrients?  If not, which ones are left out and why is that bad? Are these nutrients found to be deficient in the US diet?

Your initial post must be at least 250 words and posted by Wednesday at 11:55 pm EST. You need to state your thesis and support it with evidence and at least one outside, reputable reference. Your textbook is not an outside reference. Remember, there is no right or wrong.

Follow-up Posts: Once you have posted your initial forum discussion, you must reply to at least two other learner’s post.  One of your responses must be to the topic that was not your initial forum topic. Your follow-up posts must be at least 100 words

How would you describe academic writing, and how does it differ from informal writing?

Think about the last time you had to turn in an academic paper. How long ago was it? For some, it may have been recent, but for many, it has been some time since they took a college course. You might write regularly but academic writing has a different look and tone than informal or business writing. Therefore, it is important for you to understand Instructor expectations as you embark on your degree program journey. Whether you recently completed a degree program or have not taken a college course in 20 years, planning for success is key.

To prepare:

Visit each tab on the “Scholarly Writing: Overview” page on the Walden Writing Center website, located in the Learning Resources section for this week. Create your revised Non-Alcoholic beverage (NAB) company name and explain the name’s significance to you. Describe a NAB that you would produce and sell.

Assignment 1: Company Description and SWOT Analysis

Due Week 3 and worth 100 points

In this assignment, you will create a revised company description and mission statement based on the feedback you received in the Week 1 discussion. Then, you will conduct a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat) analysis for the type of beverage you have selected and for your company. As you work on the assignment, consider why you have chosen one type of non-alcoholic beverage over another and the reasons for that choice. As you complete your SWOT analysis, be sure to include external factors such as industry/market trends and competition, and internal factors such as your capabilities or abilities to reach certain market segments.

Write a 3–5-page paper in which you do the following:

  1. Create your revised Non-Alcoholic beverage (NAB) company name and explain the name’s significance to you. Describe a NAB that you would produce and sell.
  2. Develop your revised company’s mission statement and provide a rationale for its components.
    • Hints: Use the Statement of Mission template on pages 72–73 of the course textbook, Successful Business Plan, to aid your development.
    • Extract appropriate information from the NAB Company Portfolio, where applicable. You should fill in other required items in the template using your personal preferences.
  3. Describe the trends in the non-alcoholic beverage industry, especially the specific type of beverage category you have chosen.
      • Hints: Research and outline beverage industry trends. Consider the size and growth rate of the industry overall and the specific beverage type you have chosen. Use the worksheet in the course text (p. 88 | Past and Future Growth of Your Industry) to help you project the future growth rate. Consider the use of industry associations and search engines to find reliable and recent data.
  4. Choose one strategic position from the course text (pp. 142–143) that you believe is the best strategic position for your company. Explain the approach you will use to implement this strategic position in order to distinguish your beverage from other non-alcoholic beverages.
  5. Provide an overview of your company’s distribution channels. Explain the manner in which your product will reach end users. Provide a rationale for your chosen method.
    • Hints: For example, will you sell your beverage in grocery stores, restaurants, or sports venues? If so, describe the types of resellers and distributors who will sell to resellers and fulfill their orders. If you are attempting to sell directly to consumers, for example, online via a monthly subscription, how will you manage warehousing/fulfillment/shipping?
  6. Outline at least three types of risks (including any regulatory risks) that your business faces. Describe your company’s plan to mitigate such risk.
    • Hints: You may refer to the types of risk listed in the course text (pp. 148–149) as well as any risks not listed in the text. Regulation weighs more heavily on beverage and food businesses than many other types of companies, so be certain to consider any regulatory risks your type of beverage faces. For example, what kind of regulation and/or risks are you likely to face if you make health claims about your beverage?
  7. Develop a SWOT analysis for your NAB company using the SWOT matrix worksheet in the course text (p. 153 | SWOT: Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats).
    • Hints: What are your company’s likely strengths? Have you chosen a beverage segment that is growing and lacks an entrenched competitor? Are you in a niche market that has great potential? What are the strengths that you and other team members bring to your company? Do you or other team members have previous experience in the food and beverage industry?
    • Hints: What are your company’s likely weaknesses? Is the competition in your industry segment entrenched? Is your own management team inexperienced? Will it be challenging to actually produce your product and maintain quality?
    • Hints: What are your company’s opportunities? Does your segment have more demand than supply? Have larger corporations stopped serving smaller or niche markets that you could enter? Is a new market emerging because of demographics, immigration, and changing tastes?
    • Hints: What are your company’s threats? Is there a clear market leader that will be hard and expensive to displace? Are downward-pricing pressures in the segment making profit margins slim? Are there little or no barriers to entry for new competitors? if you have a novel idea that succeeds, can the competition easily enter your market? If you have a global aspect to your company, do factors such as currency fluctuations, political instability, offshoring, or outsourcing pose threats?
  8. Format your assignment according to these formatting requirements:
    1. Cite the resources you have used to complete the exercise. Note: There is no minimum requirement for the number of resources used in the exercise.
    2. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with 1-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
    3. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Develop a company overview and SWOT analysis that include trends, strategic positioning, distribution channels, and risks.

Write an explanation of specific areas in which programs like CIT can benefit law enforcement and the communities they serve

Instruct (SP 7)-APP- Persons with Mental Illness

Write in APA format, 12 font size, Times Roman

The crisis intervention team (CTI) or “Memphis Model” is considered one of the gold standards. It was developed in partnership with the Memphis Police Department and University of Memphis and is now promoted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

  • Write an explanation of specific areas in which programs like CIT can benefit law enforcement and the communities they serve
  • Write an explanation of potential risks to people with mental illness, community members, and criminal justice professionals that could exist without commitment to such programs

Here is some information about it…
1.3 THE GOOD LIFE AND THE GOLDEN RULE
1.3.1 WHAT CONSTITUTES A GOOD LIFE?
How do human beings thrive? What do we need to enable us to realise our potential? How do we judge what we really need as opposed to what we really want? How do we ensure that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential as human beings, no matter what their circumstances? There are many challenges in this for modern, Western societies, where individualism, consumerism, and materialism often lead to great inequities.

1.3.2 WHAT IS THE GOLDEN RULE?
This is known as the ‘Ethic of Reciprocity’ and is found in numerous cultures, religions, ethical systems and secular philosophies. It trascends so many traditions and philosophies and is often described as the universal ethical principle.
The Golden Rule has the capacity to be the ethical cornerstone as the human family works together to build a peaceful, just and sustainable global society.
Its appeal is augmented by the fact that its message is simple, universal and powerful.
