How students are identified for assessment based on IDEA’s eligibility categories.

Following the assessment process for establishing eligibility under IDEA’s disability categories ensures adherence to proper legal provisions and ethical considerations. Understanding the purpose of each assessment utilized to establish eligibility assists in the ability to execute those assessments properly.

In your brochure, identify and describe the following:

  • The five primary purposes of the special education eligibility assessment process for individuals who have or appear to have disabilities (screening and identification, eligibility and diagnosis, IEP development and placement, instructional planning, and evaluation) as explained in “NASET Assessment in Special Education Series.”
  • The stakeholders involved in the assessment process with explanations of why and how each is involved.
  • How students are identified for assessment based on IDEA’s eligibility categories.
  • Legal and ethical considerations related to the assessment process and establishing eligibility.
  • At least three components of the comprehensive eligibility assessment process used to determine if there is a documented disability.

The brochure should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.

Provide a minimum of three scholarly references.

While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in‐text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Small Business Program And Source Selection Plans

Choose to respond to this scenario from a government or a contractor perspective. If you select government, then you will complete the assignment as if you are a government employee (or military personnel) receiving the proposal from the contractor. If you select contractor, then you will complete the assignment as if you are a contractor employee submitting a proposal to the government.

Imagine that you are working on a program for the purchase of (if government) or the sale of (if contractor) the installation of security fencing around the base of towers along the Arizona-Mexico border that are used for long-range cameras. The cost of the project is one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). Your boss has asked you to create a portion of the main contract for a small business set- aside contract.

Write a six to eight (6-8) contract proposal in which you:

  1. Examine the purpose of the federal small business program to include a historical aspect of the government regulations that created the program.
  2. Evaluate the small business set-aside program in regard to the eligibility to participate.
  3. Assess the dollar threshold reserved for small business contracts in the scenario.
  4. Analyze the contract formats for government contracts to include universal and commercial formats. Determine which format to use for the small business contract described in the scenario.
  5. Determine the purpose of the source selection evaluation plan.
  6. Create ranking of criteria for evaluation plans for this scenario.
  7. Use at least four (4) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Apply the concepts of the federal small business program and apply the contract format.
  • From a contractor’s perspective, synthesize actions to make the decision to respond and bid on an RFP.
  • Apply the considerations for effective source selection and technical evaluation plans, and develop actions to complete the legal review during the solicitation phase.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in government acquisition.
  • Write clearly and concisely about government acquisition using proper writing mechanics.

Grading for this assignment will be based on answer quality, logic / organization of the paper, and language and writing skills, using the following rubric found here.

Dr. Vic’s Tips!

Write a six to eight (6-8) pages on a contract proposal in which you:

1.  Examine the purpose of the federal small business program to include a historical aspect of the government regulations that created the program. (Dr. Vic’s Tips, here you will want to conduct external research along with reviewing Chapter 8 of Compton in its entirety. You probably want to spend at least one page on this question).

2.  Evaluate the small business set-aside program in regard to the eligibility to participate. (Dr. Vic’s Tips, you will recall from Week 4 DB 1, we reviewed government small business set aside programs – you will want to revisit that information with a particular emphasis on eligibility. You will want to review Compton Ch. 8 and specifically p.p. 88-91 on set-asides.

3.  Assess the dollar threshold reserved for small business contracts in the scenario. (Dr. Vic’s Tips: Here you will want to review Week 4 again, DB1 information and again, Compton Ch. 8 information, along with any external information you may have used in Week 4 DB1).

4.  Analyze the contract formats for government contracts to include uniform and commercial formats. Determine which format to use for the small business contract described in the scenario. (Dr. Vic’s Tips: given the assignment scenario and the role you choose, for this assignment, please discuss UNIFORM and COMMERCIAL formats, what do they include and how might they be different. Then determine what the best contract format for the assignment scenario is in your opinion. Please review Ch. 9 of Compton for information relevant to both uniform [UCF] and commercial formats, and p.p. 248-249 of Feldman).

5.  Determine the purpose of the source selection evaluation plan (Dr. Vic’s Tips: This portion deals with Compton, Ch. 10 and FAR 15.3, you will also want to review your response to Week 5 DB1).

6.  Create ranking of criteria for evaluation plans for this scenario. (Dr. Vic’s Tips: please review the section entitled, RANKING OF CRITERIA on p.p. 126-131 of Compton Ch. 10 for information relevant for this question).

According to UN Resolution 181, what are the rights of Arabs in Israel and what are the rights of Jews in Palestine?

Introduction
The nation of Israel was officially created on November 29, 1947 as a result of UN Resolution 181 to provide a homeland for the Jewish people in a region with strong historical significance to people of Jewish faith (as well as Muslim and Christian faiths). This was accomplished by partitioning Palestine, an Arab nation, into two nations, creating animosity among the Arab peoples in the region, particularly the Palestinians, and resulting in decades of conflict between them and the nation of Israel. In the intervening years, Israel has engaged in the practice of expanding its territory into Palestine by creating Israeli settlements there. One of the recent incidents of this practice was address by Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, Executive Committee member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

Instructions

  • Are the resulting conflicts religious, economic, territorial, or a combination of these? Support your assessment with evidence.
  • Is the practice of creating Israeli settlements in Palestine illegal? Assess Dr. Ashrawi’s statement that “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is more committed to settlement expansion than to peace.”
  • What is the US position on this practice and how has this affected international relations?

Step 2: Career Exploration

Explore job industries by conducting research on the type of careers that use your interests and skillset. O*Net OnLine (Links to an external site.), the Occupational Outlook Handbook (Links to an external site.), and Bureau of Labor Statistics (Links to an external site.) are great web resources for career exploration, job analysis, and education requirements.

Ask a professional in your career field of interest for an informational interview. Informational interviews allow you to gather information from a direct contact about his or her role. There are various ways to pursue an informational interview. For example, company websites, social networking sites, newspaper ads, and professional associations are avenues a job seeker can take.

Also, while deciding on a goal, consider your current lifestyle and where you would like to be in the future. Some helpful questions to consider are listed below.

· Does the career you want pay a salary that meets your needs?

· Will it offer you opportunities to advance?

· Are you comfortable sitting at a desk all day, or do you prefer to travel?

· Is the career you are considering likely to exist when you are ready for a job?

What is your goal?

Write your specific goal below.

Health And Wellness

 Dear students,
I have graded a few RUA papers. My advise to all of you is to be careful with this assignment. You need 3 criteria. 1. Choose a health issue (Coronary Artery Disease)
2. Target population (Native Americans)
3. Developmental stage (young adults) 40-60 years
I do not have time (this being week 6) to ask you to modify your paper. Therefore whatever you are submitting I will grade.
I have talked about these 3 criteria several times in class. So I am quite surprise why papers were submitted without following the rubric.
To be fair to the students I follow the rubric very closely.
I also follow APA format closely and look for running head on cover page, titles, intext citations, introduction and conclusion. Reference page should be on a brand new page. References should be scholarly.
APA format was taught in NR 103 so there is no wiggle room here for not following guidelines
