Select a significant tragic event (either domestic or global) that has occurred during the last 50 years. The interactive PowerPoint in this unit provides some ideas of historical tragic events but understand that these are just ideas. After describing the event and the post-tragedy events, discuss the ethical aspects revolving around this incident. This may require some additional research to understand the ethical situations and the impact these had on affected people being able to move on with their lives.

1. Describe the actions of people and organizational leaders directly and indirectly involved with the tragedy. Specifically, address the ethical issues they faced.
2. What were some of the actions of local, state and federal personnel with respect to dealing with this tragedy?
3. Explain the strategies of organizations that attempted to assist with the clean-up after the tragic event. Describe several of the pressures that influenced their strategies. Distinguish between social responsibility, integrity and simple business ethics.
4. How has this event affected the ethical culture here in the United States? What other affect has it had on society as a whole?

Your paper should include:

• Nursing Autobiography: A brief (1 page) discussion of your background in nursing.
• The Four Metaparadigms: Identification, discussion, and documentation from the literature of your perspective on the four metaparadigms of patient, nurse, health, and environment.
• Two Practice-Specific Concepts: Identification, discussion, and documentation from the literature of your perspective on at least two concepts specific to your own practice.
• List of Propositions: A numbered list of at least five propositions or assumption statements that clearly connect the concepts described.

Your paper should integrate these discrete elements and reflect your personal nursing philosophy.

The paper should be thoroughly researched and well documented, with relevant material from the nursing theorists presented incorporated into the paper. The cultures we studied this week produced architecture, earthworks, and monumental sculpture, in addition to smaller works of art. Using your course textbook locate three examples of architecture, earthworks or monumental sculpture from three different cultures listed here: Islamic, Chinese, Japanese, or the Americas.

 On Chapter 18, Lesson 3, Page 380 I learned about The Biome. The biome is an aquatic life zone and known for the vegetation in the aquatic biome. There are different zones that are categorized in Photic zone and aphotic zone. There is an illustration (Figure 18.15) that shows us the difference of the zones in an aquatic biome with the Benthic Realm, which is made up of sand and organic sediments. Microscopic algae and cyanobacteria that drift near the surface affect lakes and ponds due to the large inputs of nitrogen and phosphorus from sewage. This affects our oceans and sea animals because they suffer from oxygen depletion (Air restriction) and kill fish that adapted to high oxygen enviornments. This relates to my everyday life because my friends and I go to the beach to clean up garbage in the waters as best as we can and this is a big social issue regarding our concerns with sea life and we always come up with ways to prevent our sea animals from dying. Very interesting topic.
