Normalization

You were asked to create a data model for a company dinner club…the final database design must enable the manager to mail invitations to the clubs members, plan the meals, and keep track of who attends the dinners…you were also given the following business rules…

  • Each dinner serves many members, and each member may attend many dinners…
  • A member receives many invitations, and each invitation is mailed to many members…
  • A dinner is based on a single entre…but an entre may be used as the basis for many dinners…for example, a dinner may be composed of a fish entre, rice, and corn…or the dinner may be composed of a fish entre, a baked potato, and string beans…

The chart below was created by the manager of the company who is NOT a database expert…

Presenting a Recommended Evidence-Based Intervention

Everyone serving in a public health professional capacity needs to  become proficient in making public presentations, using Microsoft  PowerPoint or similar media presentation software.

This assignment provides an opportunity for you to present a  compelling case for an evidence-based intervention to address a specific  public health problem in your community.

You have concluded your investigation of successful evidence-based  interventions and decided on an adaptation of one approach to the public  health problem being addressed. Your next step is to present your  recommended intervention to the committee. Committee members have asked  that you record the audio portion of your presentation to accompany the  slides for those who may not be able to attend a live meeting.

Present a recommended evidence-based intervention to address a public health problem in your community.

Your slide deck should consist of 1015 slides, not including  the title and references slide. Use the speaker’s notes section of each  slide to develop your talking points and cite your sources, as  appropriate.

Counseling

You are the executive director of a small publicly funded behavioral health agency that serves indigent clients. After 10 years of being able to serve all clients seeking help, your agency has just received a 20% budget cut and must prioritize which services to discontinue and which clients to turn away. The community has many suggestions: stop serving undocumented immigrants and their children; stop serving substance abuse clients, limit all clients to six sessions, discontinue providing expensive services like psychiatry, lay off professional counselors and hire non-licensed paraprofessionals, stop providing counseling and instead simply offer peer self-help groups and parenting classes, serve only the most seriously ill (or the least seriously ill), and serve only children.

How would you approach the difficult task of cutting services by 20% in a manner that reflects your ethical obligations as a community counselor? Would your plan differ if you were in a private sector? If yes, how? What criteria would you consider? What theoretical or standard of care practice will you follow to make a final decision about what to cut from your program? Reference the NAADAC Code of Ethics and the AACC Codes to support your answer.

Week 9 Discussion Bus 375

Your project sponsor is not familiar with earned value management (EVM).  You have been asked to provide him with a quick overview of EVM. Using the information covered in the readings, suggest the top three EVM  performance measures (some may also be indexes) on which you would educate your project sponsor. Explain what each measure tells the project manager. Also, identify other performance factors beyond EVM  that you would communicate to your sponsor. Provide a rationale for your selection of topics.

Information Systems

In 250 words or more, answer the following.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of connected computing devices and objects using unique identifiers and sending data over a network without requiring human interaction. Many industries (for example, automobile, healthcare, appliance, et cetera) are or will be using IoT to operate more efficiently and better serve their customers.

Research using the web to identify a recent or potential future IoT attack. Summarize the attack you chose and discuss why it was or potentially may be successful. Based on your research, are there red flags one should look out for when considering using IoT-enabled devices to avoid becoming an attack victim?
